Lyrics:

Your Kiss Changed Everything

Verse (1)
I stopped believing in love
It’s like some fool just made it up
I built my walls as tall as heaven
Didn’t think I needed anyone

Chorus
But I found you in my darkest place
When I thought there was no way
I could ever love
You stole my heart, you were a thief that I needed
Oh I’ll never be the same
Cause your kiss changed everything

Verse (2)
We kissed for hours in my truck
Until that morning sun came up
You were everything I wanted
It took one look and I was in love

Chorus
But I found you in my darkest place
When I thought there was no way
I could ever love
You stole my heart, you were a thief that I needed
Oh I’ll never be the same
Cause your kiss changed everything

Bridge:
Against all odds
Against all my fears
You healed my heart
You dried my tears

Chorus
But I found you in my darkest place
When I thought there was no way
I could ever love
You stole my heart, you were a thief that I needed
Oh I’ll never be the same
Cause your kiss changed everything

Excellent vocal. Very pretty backtrack. I imagined your wife loved this song as well. Well done.

Great lyrics, melody, vocals, feeling, & performance...
Very Garth Brookish type of country style...
It should fit nicely in his repertoire as well in yours...
Good job... I like it!

Verse (1)

"I stopped believing in love

So simple yet says so much. I think that's some really terrific writing. And the rest of the lyric is right there, too. Your vocal sits so perfectly in this song. Your vocal reminds me a little bit of Richie McDonald. Actually it reminds me of him quite a bit.

Loved it! One thing for consideration ... perhaps let that distortion guitar have a louder voice on its short solo. But man, this is just so good!

best to you ...

Alan

Thanks Alan for the feedback and advice on the mix. Being deaf in one ear makes mixing a challenge particularly when panning . I will adjust the volume— very much appreciated.

Well, listen like Brian and mix in mono - it can sound as good as stereo and often more powerful.
Seriously - the stereo mix is pretty good given your circumstance BUT if you centre everything and get your levels right (remember to do the same with any stereo effects), I think this song would shine as brightly. In the mastering stage a good ME will sprinkle a little magic dust with delay/reverb to give it THAT feel.

Always touching to read personal backstory behind a song, brings another dimension for the lyrics, I had a tear in my eye already in the chorus. Great story, beautiful melody, emotional vocal delivery. That solo guitar might sound better with bit more breadth and reverb.

Hey Bob, wowzers! The arrangement is a pleasure to listen to and I dig the overall timbres. Adding the fiddle to this is a nice touch. Very captivating lyrics. Thanks for sharing!

Joe

Wow! This is a great song and that chorus is so strong.

No need to parse it out...all is good.

Back for another listen....

Nice song, Bob. Nicely produced. The acoustic guitars and piano sound especially good - crisp, clean, clear.

Good mix throughout.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
