ina previous post charlie fogle steered me to a tutorial that allowed me to create a click track and align an imported audio. ran into a few problems such as the last two bars being a rallentando ending

obviously the click track didn't like that so i had to cut the end and paste onto another track then the click track worked fine.

before i did that when i tried 'align with click track' i got the message i needed to 'consolidate audio'. that actually cut the last twenty bars of the song.

even without aligning to click track the consolidate command cut a large part of the song.

no idea why it happened but just a warning - if your audio has a rallentando end, cut the end and copy to another track.

That's a good tip.

Yeah, click tracks really tend to live and die by consistency in tempo. But they can be pretty useful.

Care to link that tutorial mentioned? I wouldn't mind checking it out myself, and it could be a saving grace for someone who stumbles across this thread looking for info on click tracks.

Why does a click track not like slow down. I just simply create a click track in Reaper and pull the playrate down at the end. The click slows down with it. Hopefully I've added a picture.

Edit added the sound file. Note I made it shorter listening to 32 bars of click is not exciting in my view.

all i know is that in recording a click track it was impossible when the prerecorded audio slowed down to 'click' the last two bars. when i didn't the track demanded to be consolidated before it would align and then lost bout the last 20 bars

no idea why

Personally I don’t like to play to a click I find it very off putting. I would be inclined to generate a Drum track in BIAB where you can slow the end and use that.

I often slow endings in Reaper using the method as shown. So the song is created straight and then in Reaper adjust it.

Just a thought.

When you do the consolidate routine, check the From-Thru settings
Do they match what you actually need?

If not, adjust.
If they do, as an experiment, try adusting those settings to add 20 additional bars; what happens then?
Just a guess at something to try to help narrow it down.

I usually (as habit from long ago) set RB to consolidate from bar 1 thru bar 1000 when consolidating.
If the track is 80 bars long it consolidates it all .. if it is 400 bars long it consolidates it all.
Might be worth a shot.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
