Whoever referred to a country tinted Bob Seger nailed this. We like it. All of it.

The oft mentioned sax is great. One of the best uses we've heard. Nice band all the way around.
And the mix sounds good on the monitors...cool soundstage.

Vocals sound nice and tight and in the "right" place in the mix. Fun lyric too.

Enjoyed it!

J&B

PS: It's loud by today's current streaming "standards" but not necessarily so for a CD project. You can always check it here:

That'll let you know how many db's streaming platforms would lower or boost it per their basically 14LUFS protocol. You don't have to upload it to the site. They do a quick analysis by listening to a short segment. FWIW, grains of salt, etc.

Hi Herb,

This is a very nice rocker. 'Doctor' is the word I heard the most, so it had to do something with corona on the dancefloor, I suppose.
Your vocals are bright and the band is playing very well. I'm sure if there is a party somewhere and you are playing this song, it sure be a swell party. Don't know if a doctor is needed afterwards, but some feet do hurt dancing on your song.

Enjoy,
Hans

Yep, the harmonies could be more obvious and the overall level of the song a little lower as some of the vocals n sax seem to distort.
Really enjoyable chugg'n rock tune.
The reverb is boosting some sibilant sounds here n there.

Cheers

Very cool... yeah, that sax.... I honestly took the first track it gave me. Applied a bit of volume automation and made 2 note changes using Melodyne...

Danny can write some interesting lyrics for sure.... and yeah, it's all true. Seriously. The stories I could tell on that boy, and he on me, from our days on the road.

Loudness.... just for grins, I ran that song through the loudness checker.... it crashed the website. Just kidding... it came back with a few sites and gave me how much it would reduce the song on that platform... most of them were a few dB. Nothing that would make me say "WHAT THE...?"

Thanks for listening.

That's funny. Nothing to do with corona or the dance floor. Glad you liked it...

I am, BTW, contemplating yet another corona virus song..... more of a party, tongue in cheek, having fun, and let the cards fall where they may, kind of song. I will bet some will find it offensive.... if I decide to put the idea down in song form.

Wow, that sax really shines. Sounds like a tough mix, Herb, but you make it sound so easy. The way the guitar and piano interact is perfect. Great vocals, too. The harmony sounds pretty far back in the mix. I like it, though, as it gives a double-take feel. Love the groove.

Enjoy whatever happens!

A really good listen and of course the sax as noted many times is excellent (solo was nice given it sounded like a thought it solo rather than licks).
Enjoyed the vocal and band.

Yeah it do... don't it? Harmony was intentionally back in the mix.... I was in fact going for the doubling more that overt harmonies.

Glad you love the groove. Thanks for listening

Yes... I agree on the solo sounding like it was intentionally well executed vs jamming and lets see what comes out.

Glad you enjoyed it.

Tremendous fun. That groove is killing me. Sax is great in this, and so is that driving piano. Your vocals are salted with a great wry sensibility that fits the lyric. Great song and very, very strong delivery.

Well, I think I have listened to that new song of yours. And you are right, it dealt with Corona.
But this one too, although it wasn't on your mind then grin

I responded to your latest Coronasong. Very funny and swinging,
Hans

Hi Herb & Danny ...

I agree with ROG's assessment. And yeah, the comment about a countrified country rocker with Bob Seger influence. It's a small thing but small things can matter ... the use of the organ on the left channel was perfect. It's so easy to unwittingly let an organ become overly-prominent in the b/g. But you blended it perfectly. As I said, a small thing but I thought it was worth the mention.

A really cool and enjoyable listen. Ya'll did good!

Best to you and please be safe.

Alan

Yep..... This is actually a true story.... Danny came in from drinking and someone commented that his eyes were seriously bloodshot... Blue on red as it were. He wrote this as a result.

Danny wouldn't turn down a Corona I'm sure, but he was partial to Schlitz beer if I recall correctly..... And burbon whiskey.

Thanks for listening

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
