Great opening! Love the way the bass bounces along underneath the crunchy guitar solo.

Vocals work well, and the organ is a nice touch.

All them big words in the lyrics, though: "nonchalant", "savoir-faire", "beguile", "debutant", ... Are you trying to make me break out my dictionary, or what? wink

I was going to make a joke about the song written half in French, but "beguile" comes from Middle English, ruining my punchline cry For irony, Chris37 did the next song I'm going to listen to. It's all French!

Fun song - everything about it sounds awesome! laugh

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

COOOOL.

Yeah, having Marty join in during the chorus certainly kicked things up a notch.

Awesome tune Dave. Loved the tone of your guitar. Excellent vocal. Martys bass lines were perfect. I got a BTO vibe from the song. Randy B and Fred Turner a couple of my early guitar and bass idols rocking out. Loved this tune.

BIG, PUNCHY. Without ANY Boom-i-ness.
Might be the Best Bass Sound ever (in the Showcase, at least).

Loved that opening. Had a CCR feel/sound.
(Just yesterday I was saying to my wife "Why didn't anyone ever carry on that Credence sound?")

LOVE that guitar tone (solos). Killer stuff.
Drums sound good.

Enjoyed several listens...

Man, you write the best reviews!

I was a big CCR fan back in the day, used to cover a few of their tunes at one point in a band I was in back in the 90's. Wasn't shooting for a CCR vibe with this one, but I'll take the comparison wink

Thanks very much, floyd, your support is always appreciated and never taken for granted.

But nothing wrong with your vocals. They sound as if you have a little cold, but that makes them really special.
And than the solo. Wow, what a swell sound.
I was brought in a very good mood and thought it would play again after the end, but then 'So many roads' with Chris started.
I think I haven't heard that one before. Oh, I liked that one too. They were close in my taste. But most of your songs are close.
That means close to the maximum of joy. I don't think I'm exaggerating with that. They come close to my songs... ;-)

Hans

Thanks for the listen and comments, Hans, and thanks for giving So Many Roads a spin too!

Dave and Marty,
Everything about this is so darn good!
You have to stop downgrading your vocals- they are just right here.
Walking bass and fantastic opening riff are also highlights.
Great work.

What a cool lyric and video! (Loved the Mona Lisa smile and those penguins strutting their stuff.)

Dave, your smoky and slinky vocal fits so well with the lyric and that sassy looking girl on the cover art smile

Marty’s bass is super and his bgv’s blend really well with you.

The organ and the poppin' great drums with you and Marty does bring to mind Muscle Shoals music.

Before we watched the video we could picture that girl sashaying along to your smoking hot guitar solo. smile

Awesome!

I want more your minor key blues ballads, but I definitely want more like this heavy stuff laugh

The more uptempo rock stuff is fun to do, especially the guitar parts. And of course, Marty can handle this sort of groove in his sleep wink

Maybe next year I'll do more along these lines. Thanks, Janne!

The outro is great. You are getting very good at programming those drums!

Really liked it.

I listened to a lot of BTO back in the day, favorite song by them is Blue Collar. Thanks, Scott!

I thought I had listened to this and commented but apparently not.

Nice swing groove you got going there. I liked several things about the drums. What really threw me off was the intro is, or sounds to be an even beat.... then the singing starts and it switches to swing at the end of the single stick hits drum snare roll.....

Nice work.... I like it.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
