Although I can appreciate the engineering hurdles that were overcome, I'm not sure what to make of this or where this technology is headed. Nonetheless I got a good chuckle out of this stiff humaniod trying to be Ringo. Note that it takes a MIDI file as input which makes sense. Be sure to watch the video. To Data on Star Trek . . . you got nothin to worry about here buddy https://spectrum.ieee.org/xiaomi-robot-drummer

Interesting, but that robot would be screwed if the BPM go to a high rate...

Well, he has my old human drummer beat, at least he didn't get drunk and fall off the stool....LOL Kajun Jeaux Absolutely, he'll also never complain about the play list. What really cracks me up about this is I couldn't concieve of a more rigid, stiff and lifeless mechanical bot even if I tried. I think my lawnmower has more fluidity than that thing, hillariouas Come on engineers, at least pretend to give this thing a little life!

What was cool about this is that it led me to "Cyborg Drumming Arm Makes Amputee Into Superhuman Musician". That I thought was really cool.
As I get older and lose some of my physical abilities, playing guitar, for example, I think about designing mechanical/electronic devices to help out.
We should not have to put up with declining physical abilities in this age of robotic technology.
Where is my brain implant so I can remember stuff...lol

I would SO have one of these to put on stage!
I smashed the hell out of my car today. When the cops came I told him "Officer, that guy was BOTH texting and drinking a beer." The cop said "Sir, he has every right to do that. I mean, it's HIS living room..."

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
