This one's a little newer than my previous post:

Someone on here posted a video a while back with some great songwriting tips in it, and I thought I'd try to follow as many of them as I could. This is the result...

Boy, after not writing a song or doing any recording for nearly 10 years, you sure get rusty. Hoping my vocal technique, among other things, improves with practice.

Here're the stats:

Backing tracks created entirely w/BIAB v. 2009, style was POPH085. I didn't do anything to customize it at all. Just used it out of the box. I hope to be more creative with this stuff in the future, but there's a big learning curve for me here. Used Realband for recording vocals and mixing.

Can't find the words

I'd like to write a song today
Take all the things I feel and send them on their way
I'd like someone to understand
Someone who's suffered too
At their own hand

I've got so many
So many words inside
So many things I've never said
But I can't find a way
To make those words come out
They're stuck inside my brain
I need to rip them out

But I don't know what I should say
Can't bring my thoughts into the light of day
I keep my feelings locked inside
I can't expose myself
I'd only run and hide

I've got so many
So many words inside
So many things I've never said
But I can't find a way
To make those words come out
They're stuck inside my brain
I need to rip them out

So many things are left unsaid
The pressure mounts and pounds inside my head
But there is nothing I can do
'Cause I will never get to talk to you
