This is the story of a pub/bar I used to frequent (I lived next door unfortunately laugh ) It was mentioned in the Doomsday book apparently. A lovely quaint little English village with a village green and beautiful old church. Muntjak deer ran wild and ate everything under 2 foot high....grrr!. They apparently escaped from Woburn Abbey even tho' that was miles away.
Mabel was the Landlady of the pub.

Hullo Mabel

You feel a wave shoot through you like a solid lump of lead
through your mouth. past through the brain and out the back of head
stagger back don't feel no pain, you felt this once before
you said you'd never do this again and in you walked
through that door

Hullo they cried as they often did sit down and howse it bin
put out a hand and feel it there, you act like in a dream
troubles pass if they weren't there you felt that once before
you said you'd never do this again and in you walked
through that door

You know the names you know the faces you know the score
get there first but it's your round till Coatsie locks the door
her in doors gets her upset you felt that lots before
you said you'd never do that again and in you walked
through that door

Hullo Mable, howse you bin?

time goes by so quickly seems a shame to go home
tabs run dry, your pockets empty, your thirst stands all alone
you stagger home by the light of the waning winter moon
you said you'd never do this again and again you talked
too bloody soon

Hullo Mable, howse you bin?

Extra drums from underlying midi file and FL studio. I sampled the snare hit in the Real drums and used that for the extra hits.
Me on guitar, eventually, as it took a long time to get the solo clean and sounding right.

Coatsie was Ralph Coates ,a great bloke, sadly departed, and he said he was the official village idiot!! Thanks to him I met Bobby Moore, Geof Hurst and Gordon Banks from the 1996 England Football World Cup Team. I will never forget that fleeting moment!

Enjoy
