Copy and paste to the new track, but paste with a slight offset, for example, instead of position 1:1:000, paste at 1:1:010.
You can experiment with offset amounts to taste.

To further enhance the thickening, you can detune the doubled track by a couple of cents and/or add different level of reverb.


Similarly adding a delay to the 2nd track with one repeat and the appropriate timing can give the same effect.
