Get Out of My Car

The song is all tongue and cheek. The lyrics probably don't make sense without a little backstory. Perhaps, I should subtitle it "A Teacher's Day." All the little incidents in the song are based on events that happened last year in my school with some of the most interesting involving one of colleagues. The hook is inspired by a student who would constantly wander out of the school building, venture into the parking lot, and sit it cars that were left unlocked. Nothing ever happened to the student for a while. Then my colleague had enough when this student had trespassed into his car one too many times. The student was suspended.

Lyrics

I wear orthopedic shoes
And a cardigan sweater
Spend all my time
Trying to make your life better
This time, I think you’ve gone too far
Little [*****], get out of my car

Prophylactics
Lying on the floor
A boy sets fire
To the girl next door
Going home, I’m gonna stop at the bar
Little [*****], get out of my car

Get out of my car

Locked open rooms
Become Noah’s Ark
Hallucinogenic
Vapors in the dark
Moonlight streaming in a jar
Little [*****], get out of my car

Get out of my car

Goose stepping parents are out of their minds
Can’t leave Confederate generals behind
Living in a book burning hegemony
Marching for the white man’s destiny

I wear orthopedic shoes
And a cardigan sweater
Spend all my time
Trying to make your life better
This time, I think you’ve gone too far
Little [*****], get out of my car

Get out of my car
