I have the 2019 Audiophile version of BiaB on an external SSD. I have just ordered the 2020 upgrade. Do I just unplug the old SSD, plug in the new one and hit the exe file, or is there something else I need to do?

Secondly, I am in Australia and I have had three 'UPS Exception Notification' messages on this order - all for different reasons. So the new SSD might not even get here. If I have to download the new files where do I install them? Do they go on to the existing 2019 external SSD?

As we have some of the world's slowest internet speeds here I hope the SSD arrives safely. Last time I had to download 500Gb of files for a PC re-build it took two weeks of continuously downloading day and night. Snail mail is actually faster than the internet here.

Hi,

Welcome to the forums.

I'm an Aussie too. I have never once had a problem getting hard drives from PG Music. They've been getting shipped to me since around 2008.

When the drive arrives, simply run the INSTALL file and then select the option that works for you. Use same \bb, \bb\Realtracks and \bb\drums paths that were installed with your previous version.

Regards,
Noel

Thanks Noel. I have never had problems with the USPS in the past, but I am aware of the pressure and interference they are experiencing at the moment and hoping this won't affect my delivery.

I really don't want to have to resort to downloads. I get about 1Mbps download speed on my internet connection.

Welcome also

You'll really need the physical drive for the Audiophile. Download is not a practical option.

USPS generally do a great job, but these are more challenging times.

Good luck! Hope it arrives soon.

SSD arrived safe and sound and much quicker than I anticipated. Well done USPS!

All installed and ready to rock.

If I want to give my old 2019 version SSD to my son do I need to do anything special to make sure the license transfers ok?

Pleased (that given the world circumstances) that the disk arrived in a timely manner.

You need to get advice from PG Music about how to correctly handle the 2019 version license. Only they can accurately advise.

Thanks VT.

I tried that but they just pointed me to the 'license' document that is on the SSD. No technical help at all.

I may be incorrect, but the way I understand it is that if you purchased a product 'upgrade' then you purchased an upgrade of your existing license, not an additional license.

I may also be incorrect, but I believe I have read here that to give away BIAB, you must give away everything. In other words, at some point, you purchased a license to use BIAB, and after that, the rest of your purchases were upgrades to that one license. If it were not so, each year you could 'give away' a copy of BIAB, and I don't think your license entitles you to do that.

I think you are right. Still waiting for a response from PG, but no joy.
