Dear Rusty,
thanks again, you're really so kind!
I think I am on the way of a solution. In fact I've noticed that the slow rendering was only in a particular song (People Get Ready), where there was plenty of pushes, and only in the style picker window. Probably so many pushes weren't so easy to manage changing style...Trying new styles with more "normal" songs has no problem.
Grazie!
Alfredo

Can you upload a copy of that particular problem song file? Others can confirm if the issue is specific to the song.

You would need to upload to a file sharing service such as DropBox or similar, and then post the link.

Hi Alfredo. Thanks for posting the SGU file.

I downloaded the SGU and can confirm the file has a problem. The tracks quickly generate but playback never starts. I have no idea what is wrong because I've never seen Band-in-a-Box generate tracks but refuse to play.

Hopefully some other users or PG Music will take a look and figure out what is wrong. I will continue to investigate and will update this thread if I discover anything.

Update 01: I was able to obtain audio playback. After the tracks generated I moved the cursor from bar 1 to a random bar. When I hit the keyboard space bar, playback began. So for me, track generation is normal but playback doesn't start as it should.

I don't confirm what Jim said. Regenerations for new styles take on average of 10 seconds. Alfredo, your computer is not Core to Duo, or similar underpowered e-machine is it?

Interesting.
When first loading the song and I tried it twice it only generated the drum track for all seventy-two bars hall of the tracks were blank.
The third time I tried I hit F4 to regenerate all tracks and it regenerate all tracks in the song played through all 72 bars with all tracks.

I went back and reloaded the song for a 4 time and can repeat the same bizarre behavior so there is something wrong with the file.
For me, it only plays drums the first time I hit play or double click on bar one.
Hitting F4 everything works fine.

My experience is same as Rusty. Song played well and 7 Real Tracks for 74 bars regenerated and started playing in BIAB in seconds.

All, I've tried (1) starting BiaB then loading SGU file, (2) double clicking SGU file so it opens BiaB and automatically loads, (3) Starting generation with F4, (4) Starting generation with the Play+ button, (5) Use play button to start playback and (6) use space bar to start playback. When I move the cursor off bar 1 then hit the space bar playback begins. Then I can move the cursor to bar 1 and playback is normal.

It's strange that Jeff's issue is different than mine while RustySpoon# and DrDan have no issue with the SGU file.

I hope Andrew or a developer will download the SGU file and try to determine why the SGU file works differently on different computers.

Same. Perfect here too. Style change a little long because of the syntax, but succeeded without problem.

Thank you all!

Good news for me is that it's not my PC, drivers and so on. Quite proibably it's because of the complexity of the file, maybe all these pushes...

Wonderful forum!!!
