Is there an easy way to converting MIDI type 0 to MIDI type 1 in BiaB?

Thanks

The easiest way that I know of how to do this is to use RB....almost automatic. Not so sure about using BIAB though.

Thanks Jeff

I ended up using Sonar, but all the time I thought surely BiaB can do this?
If not, why not?

While BiaB is a wonderful product and while it does tons of things that a sequencer or DAW cannot do, there are also things they can but BiaB can't do (yet).

There is no other tool like BiaB and it is one of the 3 essential tools I believe every computer musician should have: (1) MIDI sequencer / DAW (2) Band-in-a-Box (3) Music notation program.

Having these 3 apps will cover just about anything you want to do.

Thanks guys for the tips.
Bob, I totally agree, SR: I'll have a look, at the moment Sonar did it atomatically
Best

RB can save as either type also, as Mountainside mentioned.
So while BiaB may not, its extension (RB) does.

RB is a very respectable program and complements BiaB very nicely.

I prefer to keep BiaB and my DAW separate, but I think I'm a minority in that respect. Fortunately there are enough tools around so we can adapt the process to our personal way of working.

If you load a type 0 into most sequencers, it will split the MIDI channels for you. Then all you have to do is save as a type 1. I have no use for type 0 anymore, although I used to use it when I fed floppy disks into a hardware sequence player. (I'm glad technology eliminated the need for that).

Thanks Bob

Yes, Sonar did it for me in an instant (in fact it was completely automated). Opened the MIDI 0 file and it placed every instrument on separate tracks. Cool.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
