Hi,
When writing in the editable notation window, how do you get the melody to write (insert notes) below the b which is just below the C that is between the treble and bass clef. I need to write lower than the C but it stops at B and won't let me go any lower. I tried writing in the bass clef but that was for the bass guitar.

I use the bass clef.
Alternatively, you could enter the note an octave up and change the pitch by right-clicking the note and changing the Note octave (for example, E5 to E4).
Or enter a low C and drag it to the pitch you want.
Or enter the whole melody an octave up and use Melody, Edit Melody, Transpose Melody Only, -12.

Hi,
When you use the bass clef, how do you get it to continue using the melody instrument you were composing with? When I entered the note in the bass clef, the bass guitar played when it came to that note.

What instrument do you have set for the melody track?

OK. I don't see a problem here. When you take the guitar lower, the timbre changes and you might think it's a bass guitar, but that sounds normal to me.
A lot depends on the quality of whatever you are using to play your MIDI sounds. On the better hardware or software synths, you would not notice as much difference in the tone quality when you go lower as you might on, for example, a RealTek built-in soundcard running the Microsoft MIDI Mapper as the choice of MIDI Output Driver. MIDI has no sound of its own; the better the soundcard or software synth, the less objection you should have to the sound.
