Check out "n-Tracks.com",
as it's very extensive program GUI, including (in their very extensive view menu), specific ways to interpolate zoom levels, along with loads of recording, plus very cool approaches to audio/midi conversions...for $49 bucks...or $99 for a program expansion with unlimited possibilities, I've got a free 10 day trial to scope it out.
Maybe more than you need or want to use with PTP, but lots of possibilities, probably including features that will give you a "leg up"!
