Start8 from Stardock, or some other start menu feature makes Win8 work much like the Win7 (and Vista) interface. Besides, the start menu is "mostly" coming back in Windows 10, anyway, so don't forget it (a la Win8.x) before you have to learn it again.

I've purchased Start8 as gifts for folks (it's only $5); they loved it.
