Maybe you don't have speakers set as the default WINDOWS audio playback device? or they should show up in Real Bands "MME drivers" window as something to select?

I forget to mention Real Band (without getting into MID thru settings) will NOT send MIDI data out to your MIDI device (e.g., Coyote, SampleTank 3) UNTIL you hit record! translation you won't hear anything until you hit record

Now I also forgot how to (or even if you can) with MME HEAR the MIDI device while you are recording something but I know you can with ASIO (which is my default because I use a MAINLY external MIDI keyboards and guitars so I want very little latency - I like to hear the stuff I'm triggering while it's being recorded).
