Not real sure on this one. Really wanted to show off the bent note piano style. This song is fictitious and is about noticing problems too late. Men tend to do that. Hope you like it. Good vocals and good lyrics. But I think your instincts that "Not real sure on this one." are right.
For me, there is a bit of a disconnect between the music and lyrics and the song never quite finds its groove or vibe.
It has a lot of potential and deserving of your time to revisit.

We've always loved the "tears in your beer" country sub-genre.
It certainly centers on the oft written topic but is a fresh take
on it, e.g., "Although this is Sunday, feels like Monday as you go"
is unexpected but really works.
The write, the vocal and the arrangement are all just different
enough from the typical song of this genre to make it
stand out. By the second listen some of the
nuances missed the first time were coming through.
We can understand your ambivalence about it but we like
where it landed!
