Pressing ctrl-A does what I am asking for below. So I guess the question is whether there is a way of inserting a ctrl-A at a given bar to automate the process.
I cannot find how to set up a loop from a given bar back to the count off and lead in. I want to practice my entry so I want to hear the count each time. Sorry if this is too elementary or covered in the manual. I can't seem to find it.

Try inserting 2 bars in front of your existing song. Then refer to this thread where I mention creating your own drum intro. http://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=394111#Post394111With your own drum intro you can simply LOOP a highlighted section of bars by using the LOOP button next to Regenerate button. Maybe someone else knows a way to do it using the count in setting in preferences.
Does the noise in your head bother me ?

Thanks, Tobias. That works and its better for my purposes than a count in. Makes me listen more for the beat.
