No B side this time, I don't wanna distract from this song

If anyone is interested, I put this together in EZ Keys, wrote the lyrics,

worked out the arrangement and moved the wave file into my DAW.

Decided that I wanted other instruments so I composed the complete

song in BIAB, then pulled the bass, a guitar, and drums into the DAW.

It lined up almost perfectly, cut the guitar (sounded like clutter to me)

replaced the drummer with a Logic drummer (more laid back) and thought

that it sounded complete. I love the silences allowing things to breathe.

I don't wanna be a great sound engineer or producer tho.

When I grow up I wanna be a songwriter.

Thanks for listening and commenting.

Even If You Walk Away
© 2017 Kenny Leverett

Love they say
Can be hard to hold to
The things you go thru
Words once spoken
Can’t be taken back
From a hearts that’s broken

Search for the strength to
Find the right words to tell you

That I will always love you
Even if you walk away
And know that
I will hang my heart on
Every single word you say
I will always love you
Even if you walk away

Smile they say
Never let you see
That it’s killing me

Search for the strength to
Find the right words to tell you

That I will always love you
Even if you walk away
And know that
I will hang my heart on
Every single word you say
I will always love you
Even if you walk away

The sun’s gonna rise
Word to the wise
Sun’s gonna rise
Either way

That I will always love you
Even if you walk away
And know that
I will hang my heart on
Every single word you say
I will always love you
Even if you walk away

Well, seems to me you are all grown up then! Beautiful song, well written and great vocal.

Thanks for the tip on EZKeys BTW, I've been looking at that myself. Sounds great!

"When I grow up I wanna be a songwriter."

You can stop wishing now. You are there (and have been for quite some time). I've worked with some of the best in the business - you would fit right in. This is pro level writing. Absolutely beautiful. No words out of place. A gorgeous melody. Memorable from the first listen. Exceptional in all regards. It doesn't need to be parsed or quoted. It is ALL just...right.

I'd say you've got that "engineer and producer" thing down pretty well, too.

Not to mention that "singer thing". Super harmonies, too.

Kenny, this is about as good as it gets.

WOW!!! WOW!!!! WOW!!!!! This is a HIT!!!!! And not only a hit, because that does not necessarily mean good. This is the rare song that could appeal to anyone and everyone, AND at the same time BLOWS AWAY true song lovers. You have reached that rare intersection of pop and great, like Henley's End of the Innocence, and Heart of the Matter, or Sting's Fields of Gold. That land that is almost untouched. AMAZING!!!! You are one of my heroes!! Take care. Greg

Wow, this song is crazy good. I'm kind of blown away right now. This sounds like it could be on the radio right now. It has such lovely flow to it as well, and the lyrics are just superb.

What a fantastic job. Can't wait to hear the next one. I don't even mind that there's no Side B this time! You're right, this song should not be distracted from and really shines on its own anyways.

Cheers,

Awesome. I love this too. Great hook, and great songwriting.

Wonderful production.

The Don Henley reference was very appropriate. I would put it in the same ballpark and that is high praise. Great work Kenny.

Kenny

You've really delivered here. What a brilliant ballad.

No need for a B side, that's for sure.

Clear mix, great vocals, brilliant lyrics.

This is excellent from start to finish.

Kenny,
Its all been said, but anyhow...this is excellent! The chorus melody is really catchy and your vocal has that edge that`s instantly recognizable.
Love the simple arrangement.
Stellar songwriting.

Thank you Dave

not to kiss up too much, but I do love the BIAB pianos, this just has a different

flavor, EZ Keys is more tedious, watch some You Tube videos, esp. Groove 3

vids for tips. I got this almost a decade ago when it first came out. Later I changed

from PC to Mac and found that I was entitled to a free download for Mac and

re-discovered it. Izotope does that too! Anyway, it's kind of expensive, I probably

wouldn't purchase EZ Keys these days, I have to be more selective with buying

choices but it's a solid product, I would love to have the classic electric pianos

but too expensive, I'll stick with vintage electric BIAB.

appreciate your kind words

Oh I love it when all the heavy hitters like what I'm doing

I always appreciate your support and very kind words

I wish that I'd made that decision to go to Nashville years ago

just to experience some of the things that you must have been

a part of.

This forum has made me a better writer, no doubt

I'm inspired by people like you,

Thanks

Hello, Kenny

Very nice piano intro.
The melody beginning with "That I always love you is wonderful" is splendid.
Very catchy!
Your vocal is very pleasant as usual.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

This is really work of a true songwriter. Beautiful and catchy melody in the chorus and the simple arrangement supported by the strong vocal track is all you need for a hit song smile

Hi Kenny,

Without a question - the best song I've heard from you. The writing and delivery are perfect in every way. A wonderful lyric and your vocal shines. The backing tracks are just enough without being too much - nothing distracting. Everything has a place and you filled those spaces as good as it can be done.

As a few other folks said: "WOW!"

Wishing you success with this. You and the song are powerful forces to the music scene.

Alan
