That is the same behavior that I get. Sometimes it works, but most the time it will freeze the second time it tries to render a drop, and it just stays gold/yellow. The window also seems to do a refresh but I think that's normal.

I'll have to still play with it, because the program has been crashing, but still allowing me to work in it so I think just restarting the program may solve it. This is in both BIAB and RB, although RB seems to fare better at it, BIAB doesn't work at all.

The midi drops fine, it is the audio after the first or second drop it freezes or just renders the entire track.

Coolbreeze when you say the midi drop is fine does it always work and would I be able to drag a midi part into my Mixcraft daw? As I posted several months ago I returned BIAB which I was unhappy about because I really need midi parts and have filled the gap by buying in a lot of them but I'd love what BIAB has to offer.

@paulsaunderspriem

Yes, the midi part seems to work fine, but I think it did mess up a couple times. I will have to test it again later. I also noticed that rebooting my system would get me further along in rendering the audio part. I've just been using RealBand to record and mix in, then finalizing it in MC.

BIAB is not currently working for me, but I suspect it is partly my system setup. If I was just worried about midi, then I would just fire up Jammer Pro, that would let me get a little bit more into the midi.

I got BIAB to use the real tracks, so that is what I've been mostly focused on using with RB. I'm still a bit unclear on the midi import and stylemaker, but they are still cool and useful features.

While typing this I decided to test BIAB, and here are the results. The midi tracks worked, but the audio track ignored the section boundary after the first drop and exports the entire track. Hence why I'm not using it now.

That's about its only saving grace for me is the midi, it's not as versatile as Rapid Composer or JP, but it is the most feature complete program. I'd also probably have to say it is the most fun, and there is a lot of good support for BIAB.

What's not to love, BIAB does have a lot to offer, but like all software you may have to workaround some things.

Thanks mate that is very handy. If your music is on the net e.g Youtube , Soundcloud I'll give it a listen. The only instrument I play is chromatic harmonica so this DAW/midi stuff is the only way I can go being physically handicapped. My songs are on Youtube and Soundcloud under my name

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
