Anyone have any sage advise on where to look for solution to this problem?
I keep my PC on overnight, and when i come back to it in the morning, it appears that no sound is available. I'm on the latest release of W10.
I notice this first in RealBand, when I run my SEQ file, it appears to run correctly, but no sound. I try to restart the app, no change.
I try to play an mp3 file in SoundCloud..appears to be "trying" to play, but never starts. I try to play an mp3 file via WinAmp--it loads, but never "starts". I try to start a youtube video in Chrome--it cannot play.
If I restart my PC, all is resolved.
I never had this until the latest Windows release. Any ideas where I might look to ask my system to not let it's sound engine "go to sleep" overnight?
I have had to do this a couple of times after a Win 10 update: 1-right click on start - click on device manager 2-click on universal bus controllers 3-one at a time right click on each USB hub 4-click on properties 5-click on power management 6-unclick the allow this computer to turn off etc etc.
My goal this weekend is to move just enough each day so that no one pokes me to see if I'm dead or not.

Thanks Mario...I just restarted my computer, and now there isn't any hub with that feature checked 'on'...I'll do this again next time I run into the problem, maybe it gets somehow 'cleared' when you restart.
What kind of soundcard do you have? I was going to post the advice Mario gave, but now you should also look in Device Manager for your sound card and make sure there are no options to save power, go to sleep etc.

OK try this: 1-right click on the speaker in tasbar 2-click on sound recorder 3-on line in click on properties 4-under listen unclick disable automatically etc
