This is a Christmas song that I wrote years ago, and although there are not a lot of fill in instruments, the message is what's important. https://on.soundcloud.com/J0LicjbQmm5cvwtrdX This Precious Baby Boy Born in a manger, there was no room in the inn, Born of a virgin, he would save this world from sin. Three wise men came to see, travelling from afar, This child who is, the bright and morning star. Chorus: This precious baby boy, the savior of all men, This precious baby boy, born in Bethlehem. Gold and Myhr and Frankincense, their presents they would bring, This precious baby boy, who is the king of kings. As far as the eye could see, this was no ordinary birth, This was the Lord of Lords, who would bring peace on earth, Wonderful, Counsellor, the mighty God is he, A messiah, for all the world to see. This precious baby boy, the savior of all men, This precious baby boy, born in Bethlehem. Gold and Myhr and Frankincense, their presents they would bring, This precious baby boy, who is the king of kings. Bridge: He is my Lord and savior, he is the great I am, The sweet rose of Sharon, father of Abraham. This precious baby boy, the savior of all men, This precious baby boy, born in Bethlehem. Gold and Myhr and Frankincense, their presents they would bring, This precious baby boy, this precious baby boy, this precious baby boy, He is the King of Kings
Hi! the most time consuming thing for me in regard to BiaB is renaming songs. Therefore, I'd like to suggest a feature for renaming all files of a specific folder in a format that allows the mixture of freetext and textmodules. The textmodules should be (at least from my personal perspective, other users might need aditional ones):
Current Filename
Songname
Stylename long (of the song as a whole, not reflecting potential style-changes in bar x, for sure)
Stylename short (of the song as a whole, not reflecting potential style-changes in bar x, for sure)
Meter (of the general style, not reflecting potential style-changes in bar x, for sure) - with a hyphen instead of a slash, since windows doesn't accept slashes in file names
Feel (of the general style, not reflecting potential style-changes in bar x, for sure)
Tempo (of the song as a whole, not reflecting potential tempo-changes in bar x, for sure)
Key (of the song as a whole, not reflecting potential key-changes in bar x, for sure)
So the user could choose the folder and then, for example, type in (the words in capital letters and their "*"es represent the textmodules, everything else represents the freetext): *CURRENTFILENAME* in *METER*, *TEMPO* beats per minute in *KEY* which would result in a filename like this: All the Things You Are in 4-4, 90 beats per minute in Bb or *SONGNAME* [*KEY*] with a *FEEL* feel which would result in a filename like this: All the Things [Bb] with a sw8 feel or *CURRENTFILENAME* - *STYLENAMELONG* - "STYLENAMESHORT" - Tempo *TEMPO* in KEY which would result in a filename like this: All the Things You Are - Jazz Swing Trio - J_HERBIS - Tempo 90 in Bb Having this feature in BiaB 2027 is No. 1 on my 2026 Santa Claus Music Wishlist!
Let me first look at MIDI styles with only GM sounds and a combination with a Supertrack.with Synthmaster pluginn I have already seen an example of first entering a song structure via a chord progression: intro - verse, etc. This requires knowledge of chord functions, and the song structure is based on a 4-bar chord progression in the example. Then there is also the Song Form Maker? Note: it depends all of the choosen style to setup a song template ? Its not a easy question, because there many ways to compose
Hey everyone. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to everyone here, staff and forum members. Well, as much as I would like to, since we're getting a GUI revamp and other stuff, I don't think I'll have the finances to upgrade this year. But, maybe God will come along and do something so I can. But, that's not the question of the day. I still have my ancient PA800 keyboard, which is getting very long in tooth. I can import SMFs to create a new style in the keyboard. Now, this keyboard supports six types of Chord Variations, Major, Minor, Seventh, Sixth, Augmented and Diminished. I want to use Band in a Box styles and export them to a sequencer so that I can convert, modify and use them as basis for new styles for my old Korg. What I am looking for is style pattern length. I am sure that it varies on each style, and possibly even on each style variation. So, the 'A' section might be different than the 'B' section, and if I'm putting together multiple style (my keyboard has four style variations, so I'd have to have an 'A', 'B', 'C' and 'D' variations) it might differ there, as well. Is there anything that tells me how long a chord variation is? For example, I have BigBand1.sty open with only a C chord for 32 bars, the default opening screen for BIAB. This is all in MIDI, by the way. I have a Bass track, which doesn't seem to change, but when I get to the piano track, it seems to restart at bar 15, but three bars later, it's not the same. So, it hasn't looped. The drums look like they loop every 8 bars. The guitar and the brass don't seem to loop at all. SO, is there anyway to tell if certain bars DO loop, or not? I'm not even sure how much of them I can use, I may only be able to use 8 bars anyway, which means I could use 1-8 and 9-16. Who knows. lol Secondly, and I'm not sure I remember how, or even if this is possible. I seem to recall that it is possible to copy MIDI data for Real Tracks. I think BIAB had something in it where I could look at MIDI data for tracks that were played, but I don't remember for sure. If anyone here has any help, that would be appreciated. I'm running 2025 Ultra Pak Plus. Thanks in advance, and again, Merry Christmas, Happy New Years and for those of you celebrating something else this time of you, Happy Holidays to you. Gary
Spotify's AI Bluegrass Albums Are Taking Over? Not. What Marcel Ardans of Lessons With Marcel says about AI creeping into the Bluegrass world. Someone just released a new Doc Watson album of 12 new songs even though Doc has been dead for 13 years. It got reported and it was quickly taken down by Spotify even after they "verified" it as a legitimate artist upload. "Thanks for reaching out to tell me about the most recent AI slop bluegrass impersonation attempts on streaming platforms. I appreciate it, hopefully we can keep getting these taken down but I'm probably not going to keep following this story any longer. I'd rather get back to educational content so I can stop bumming everyone out. If you find anymore, definitely let me know, maybe I'll ridicule these guys in my Instagram stories or something. Wait a second, was that just a plug for my Instagram? Yes, yes it was. If you read all of this then go follow me on Instagram. Thank you."
Hello, the size of the MICROCHORDs in the Leadsheet and in the prinouts is VERY SMALL. I cannot fing the setting to change this. I attach an pair of screen captures. Please see at the beat 2 Any help is appreciatted Thanks
Hello, lately I have very very often problems to edit notes in the Pianoroll window. Some songs allow me to edit normally but many other song do not allow me to wdit: the note or group of notes to edit can not be selected nor edit antway. It seems that it does not refresh the window properly. Then, suddently I open another song and I can edit normally. Any idea? any suggestion, please? Thanks Merry Christmas. Montxo

Hi! I use BiaB mostly as a practice tool, and I'd love to have a feature where, during playback, the playback is able to jump to a random bar. It'd be great to just being able to enter a set of chords you want to work on and having to think on your feet for hitting that chord asap. Having the next random bar that's about to play highlighted in a different color would / could assist. Add randomizer button, done! :-) I'm sure there's better suggestions out there on how to make this work properly, just spitballing here. Made a quick mockup, random bar about to be played highlighted in green and randomizer button next to all the playback buttons on top. Can highlight green to indicate randomizer is on.

This video demonstrates how to use the new AI-Notes feature together with the AI-Stems splitter, allowing you to select an audio file and have it separated into individual stems while transcribing each one to its own MIDI track. AI-Notes converts polyphonic audio—either full mixes or individual instruments—into MIDI that you can view in notation or play back instantly.
