Dear friends !
This meaningless killing of innocent people like recently in Paris and Orlando makes me sick !
Is there no way to end such crimes once and for all ?
My prayers and deepest condolences go out to the families and relatives of those killed and injured !

Thank you Dani for broaching the subject.
I'm at a total loss for words. So sad, so tragic, so unnecessary, so avoidable.
My thoughts to all those affected by these stupid acts of hatred and terrorism.

Glad you brought this up. Just have to vent how unfathomable to me that ones hatred could be so great that it would lead him to murder so many people just because they are different. Kind of close to home in that a former band mate David Whitaker was present at the shooting. He has checked in safe, but I can't even imagine what he is feeling to witness such a violent ugly act.

Absolutely correct. Plenty of advanced countries around the world have figured this out already.

They have? Who? I don't understand what you're saying. This was a jihadist attack by a guy who called 911 to say he supports ISIS. These extremists hate gays along with everybody else.
I don't think Belgium, France, the UK, Israel, Malasia, the Philippines, Greece and many other countries have figured anything out.

Bob Avoidable? Yes, avoidable. We have sorted it out. We had a massacre in 1996. A shocking event from a pathetic misfit who had access to guns. The Government introduced managed and tightly regulated gun control. To date, there has not been a repeat, nothing even close. Trevor

Population of Australia 2016: 24,309,330.
Population of US 2016: 324,118,787.
That's only 300 million more. Plus Oz has no common borders for people to sneak across carrying who knows what. You guys are very fortunate as far as this issue is concerned.
It's impossible to have a government large enough to enforce a gun control policy like that in the US. Europe has a similar policy to Australia's and look what's going on there. It's because terrorists have no problem sneaking military grade stuff into Europe either.
This isn't the place for a gun control debate, I'm simply pointing out a few things. Peace
Bob

Bob,
Could not agree with you more; however, this probably doesn't increase your stock here.
First, I, and I think most here, have sympathy for all the dead, wounded, and their families and to those affected they have my sincerest condolence as well.
I think the preceding "so avoidable" implication was "the GUN did it" or was the proximate cause of it. NO, a self-identified ISIS loving, ISLAMO-NAZI, TERRORIST did it.
Out of curiosity was the BOMBING at the Boston Marathon also "so avoidable?" My crystal ball says we'll see a lot more of that as well.
Obviously, I do not subscribe to the idiotic notion that this was a "too many guns" problem, or "too few gun laws" problem, or ANYTHING to do with GUNS, expect that there were NOT ENOUGH firearms present!
For too long we've let the factually barren (objective facts, not the oft repeated "looper" boob-tube, Twatter, Fakebook facts) in society frame the argument and ALWAYS based on feelings and emotions.
===================
There are SHEEP and there are wolves, if folks want to be sheep then by all means be sheep, I'll stay a vigilant wolf whether you mind or not.
Paraphrasing John Locke on this but: The right of self defense is the first law of nature. Please, "feel" free to wave that right for yourself, just do not presume to speak for me or others.

Just to add a point. I Travel in the middle East and India on frequent occasions. It is very common to have screening by metal detectors and security upon entry to many social events including Hotels and shopping areas. Of course I don't frequent bars at 2:00 am so can't say if the same is the case. However, I can tell you it does not make me feel safer!

Can't we just put it all aside for a while? Perhaps take up the debate after they've been laid to rest.

RIP Yes, I agree, that's why I just mentioned the single word 'avoidable' with no elaboration, and hoped it would stay at that, without debate. J&B, you are right, we can quickly lose sight of the real intentions in these posts. Now, back to the topic. Rest now - all those beautiful lives lost.

Everyone,
I offer my condolences too, but I do not think the answer lies with gun control. A hate filled person can walk into a train station any time he or she wants with a pressure cooker full of nails and blow up a hundred people. Evil people will always find a weapon.
What blows my mind is society--and how people idly stand by and tolerate so much lying, posturing, deceit, bullying, coercion, mockery, narcissism, selfishness, manipulation, racism, and hatred spewing forth from the mouths of the people who are supposed to be leading us. People glorify these idiots and make idols out of them and then wonder where all the hate is coming from. The hate isn't just coming out of ISIS, it is coming out everywhere. The most celebrated television shows glorify adultery, drug use and the mockery of other human beings. Major corporations profit from pornography and child trafficking.
Until the world gets a good scrub down from top to bottom, the hate and evil will continue and no amount of governmental control or gun control will stop it.
Just my two cents.

Just my two cents. So you think these times are the worst? Try being an African from 1619 to 1865, kidnapped and shackled in a cargo hold for the journey to a lifetime of slavery. Or how about a Native American during the genocide that was carried out against them? Or maybe a Jew in Hitler's Germany? And that is just a sampling from the past few hundred years! Since there have been humans there have been humans doing awful things to other humans. There is no magical cleansing gonna happen. But smart people can figure out ways to limit the harm done by the bad guys. We do it all the time. A handful of people died when someone tampered with Tylenol and we changed the way products are sealed all across our country. Would-be terrorist tried to smuggle liquid explosives and now we are severely limited as to what we can carry on a plane. To say changing rules won't help is bogus. Will such changes prevent everything? Of course not! Just like speed limits don't prevent all speeding. But any thinking person can look at the stats and see that speed limits save many lives and a civilized society has the right and responsibility to therefore institute speed limits!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
