I'm involved in a vigorous discussion about headphones on a medical transcription forum. Somebody was running down Sennheisers because their $25 sets kept breaking. (This under daily use in a production environment.) Anyway, I did a search to refute their benightedness and goodcans.com/ was the very first hit. $1000 cans, anyone?

I keep trying to convey to other transcriptionists that quality gear may seem expensive, until you have to replace the cheap stuff a couple of times. For the record, my phones of choice are the beyerdynamic DT 700. I bought a pair in 1996 (!) and still use them on a daily basis. I paid $86 back then; today they're $200. I haven't found anything at any price that equals them for the combination of accuracy, comfort, durability, and passive isolation.

Just my two centibucks' worth. The website is the real reason I posted. Enjoy.
