RealBand 2024 Build 5 update is available: https://update.pgmusic.com/support/patch/realband_2024_update_build5.exeSummary of fixes since Build 5:- FIXED - Frozen utility tracks were not loading into RB. Fresh tracks would be generated if the setting in Song Preferences to auto-generate was enabled.
- FIXED - When loading in an MGU or SGU, and the current track wasn't set to 1, this could cause Utility Tracks to be loaded into higher track numbers than necessary.
- FIXED - When loading in an MGU or SGU, Utility Tracks that had a Loop on the tracks would not load into RB
- FIXED - When loading in an MGU or SGU, If a Utility Track used a RT that was built into the style, RB would not be aware of what RT was being used for that utility track.
- FIXED - if a song had key sig changes, then the key sig change could overwrite notes on the Lead Sheet or in printout or print preview.
- FIXED - key sig changes could show up when there is drum notation
- FIXED - when loading in a MGU or SGU, the melody track could be named a Utility Track with a negative number.
- FIXED - if the BB Soloist RealTrack was frozen, then you couldn't regenerate an individual RealTrack.
- FIXED - The Send Realtime Messages setting in Preferences - MIDI - MIDI Out wasn't being saved when exiting Realband.
- FIXED - In the Print Preview window, the width/height that you select for the saved image(s) was affecting the display within the preview window itself
- FIXED - "Print to PDF" now defaults to Microsoft Print to PDF driver, which fixes certain issues such as the title area sometimes not displaying the correct fonts.
- ADDED - When saving a range of Print Preview images to disk, Realband will now let you choose the target folder.
- FIXED - In the Print Preview window, Saving to PNG or TIF format wasn't working
- FIXED - When loading in an MGU/SGU that had regular audio (non-RT audio) on Utility Track(s) Realband wasn't loading in the .WAV files.
- FIXED - When using the "EDIT - Track - Make all tracks BB tracks" command to convert BB tracks to regular tracks, you couldn't regenerate tracks that had RealTracks on them.
- FIXED - Patches for utility tracks were not being saved or loaded to/from RB when saving or loading an MGU or SGU file
- ADDED - The Bank0 (MSB), Bank32 (LSB), and MIDI Channel for tracks are now saved/loaded to/from RB when saving or loading an MGU or SGU file.
- FIXED - when inserting a track, removing a track, or swapping tracks, the BankLSB setting would not be set correctly
- FIXED - Part Markers might not be loaded in correctly if loading in an MGU/SGU that was saved by BBW that had repeats.
- FIXED - Chords weren't being loaded in correctly if loading in an MGU/SGU that was saved by BBW that had repeats
- FIXED - When using the Edit - MIDI - Split MIDI Drums command, an access violation would occur
- FIXED - File - Save As - when typing in a file name with a band-in-a-box file extension (e.g. MGU or SGU), the file with a BB file extension would be saved in .SEQ format.
- FIXED - When using the "R" hotkey in editable notation to insert a rest, the rest might be inserted on the wrong clef.
- FIXED - Left-Clicking on the number field in the mixer to select a track would cause the pop-up menu to pop-up.
- FIXED - When saving an MGU or SGU, in RB and then loading into BBW, every Bar Number in the Chord Sheet would have a red line underneath it.
- ADDED - A warning message, and an option to not load in a BB file (e.g. MGU or SGU), if RB determines it might not actually be a BB file.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
