I'm new to BiaB and just bought and installed it. After scouring the BiaB website for days looking for all of the potential add-in products that would suite me as a jazz player (IMHO as much excitement as reading the dictionary cover to cover) I came across a single post in the forum by Peter Gannon (Team PG Staff Member) that not only contains a textural review but also provides the links necessary to audibly review the Jazz 3 RealPak. Thank you Peter!

Then ... I lost the link to that post! Now days later, here I go again, scouring the BiaB website for about an hour -- I found it again -- stupid me -- it's plastered right at the top of the forum! So I've decided that if it was that important to me, it's probably as informative to other jazz enthusiasts and so here it is:

Peter Gannon's Forum Post - RealPak Jazz 3

(Note that I'm not telling PG how to run their business -- I just think they could have done a better job on the website, as far as marketing it. Why is the best place to get info about this product in a post on 'a forum' and not on the 'product sales' side? As for me, it was important that I 'hear' the contents of this before I laid down the $80 bucks for it!)

Russell, thanks. But did you know, this post you cited is a sticky? It's right at the top of the BIAB Forum.

As far as the website, I recall they said they were going to do an overhaul some time back. The website is much like the GUI of the program itself: it's all in there, and it's up to you to sort it out. Both generate a lot of discussion, but most folks seem to get used to it.

Hi Russell

To be fair to PG Music the RealPak Jazz3 has been easy to find on the right hand side of the main home page for sometime now with the ability to hear some demo clips under the heading REALPAKS

I do agree that it is a must have Pak for jazz

Personally, from experience, I would say get the whole enchilada. Stuff you never thought would work is amazing. Add some realtrack to the the mix and it`s genius.

I have the Ketron SD2 they sell at pgmusic and it`s one of the best investments I ever made.

Add to that the fact I thought I could not sing until I turned 58, and bought a Bose system, and an Audix mic and I`m the next moron Canadian drunk fat guy with an accent drinks beer canuck Idol.

Honestly, more fun that hot chicken wings and beers. Many beers.

The best thing is the small amount to upgrade each year. And other styles, you load them, substitute this or that RealTrack and honestly it`s amazing.

And they don`t pay me a darn thing for this advertising....

Hi Brian! Thanks for your post.

I went to the home page and there is a section on the right hand side with the heading, "RealPaks". From there you'll see three 'Paks' that are labeled, "RealPAK Volume 1 Sets", Vol 2, Vol 3. Within each of those you will see Jazz 1, 2, 3.

I didn't want to purchase a $80 dollar Volume where two out of the three I'd never use -- I just wanted RealPak: Jazz 3. I had a dickens of a time finding something that described that product alone and gave me links to hear it's contents.

I agree that the link under each one of those RealPaks reads, "Click here to listen to some of the audio demos of the RealTracks in the RealPAK Volume X packages." Well, that takes you to a page where you can click on any of the TOTAL available jazz tracks -- but then you wouldn't know which of those tracks are contained in the the RealPak: Jazz 3 product. In fact, there's not a single thing on that page about the Jazz 3 product. I was just saying that I needed to see and hear that one single product -- not all of them.

Anyhow, thankfully I found the link to the post here in the forum (I also posted a thank-you to the author today -- an excellent resource).

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
