Is there a way to delete a series of notes without right clicking + delete in editable notation.
Occasionally I run into situations where solos are in the melody and I want to move the solo to the solo track?
One problem is that the solo is in the same channel as all the rest of the melody and so I can't use the Copy/Move/Delete menu option because I'll zap my melody too.
The only way I've found so far is to right click each note and select delete.

Hi Russell,
A couple of possibilities spring to mind: (1) in editable notation mode, it is possible to hold "delete" down and then simply left-click the notes you want to erase; (2) the "erase from... to" function in the edit menu will allow you to delete bars of notes in the melody (just uncheck everything except melody).
Hope that gives you some ideas. Noel

No way that I know of in Notation View. In notation view I set the time to where I want to work, then go to Piano Roll view. It conveniently comes at the just- set time. There you can select a time range or lasso notes, push the delete key, and you're done.
This might be a good one for the Wish List forum - multiple select in Notation View. There are a lot of editing features that could be added in that view.

Kelso,
Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure I know what you mean by, "... set the time ..." And, "... select a time range or lasso notes ..."? How do I set "the time" and how do I select a "time range" and "lasso notes"? The terms here aren't matching any terminology I've come across in the manual.
Thank you.
Ike

OK - The Notation View and Piano Roll view have the same data - just displayed differently. Sometimes you will like one, sometimes the other. Piano Roll has better editing imho.
So, to select multiple notes in the Piano Roll view by selecting a time range - just above the grid and just below the chord designations is the measure and beat area. Here you can left mouse button, hold, and drag to select a time range. This will select all notes that start in that time range.
To select multiple notes in the Piano Roll view by the lasso method - in the grid area - right mouse button, hold, and drag a rectangle (Lasoo??). This will select all notes in the rectangle that start in the rectangle. Even cooler - after you select some notes, hold down the Control Key and select other notes, and they will be added to the first set. I think they call this "non-contiguous selection".
There is a Piano Roll Tutorial (see Help) that will tell you more. Also check you videos. Good luck

Thank you so much. That was what I was looking for -- I am NOT going to read the manual a third time (or am I)? LOL

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
