My computer died, so last week I ordered a new one on Monday, and a PG BIB upgrade the next day. Computer got here last Friday by UPS. Still waiting on the upgrade DVDs from PG, that I guess are somewhere in the US Postal Service system.

Hello,

It's only been 6 business days, and shipping by mail is expected to take 5-10 business days, so I wouldn't worry too much about it yet. :-)

Would you like me to send a fresh set of download links so you can start playing with your new software tonight?

There's an option as to the shipper, no? If you picked the USPS and not UPS, expect the longer time delay.

And -- the download is really nice extra option to select, if you didn't delect the electronic delivery, its been offered to you now, you should consider that as well, you will still receive the disks.

When I ordered I didn't have my new computer yet, for downloading. I was biting at the bit until I called support. They said the upgrade I ordered would need a reload anyway of my BIB '9.5. So I loaded that on the new 'puter and am back in "business". I can wait a few more days for that wagon to pull into Asheville with my upgrade disks.

thanks

Hey Martin.
I asked you this in a former post. maybe you didn't see it.
BTW I live 100 miles West of you.
Any gigs in Asheville or west of Asheville for a guy doing Country and Oldies R&R solo with RB?

PM me if you have any info on gigs.
Thanks

Asheville is a tough town for getting "paying" gigs. A lot of the bars/clubs are going to open mike stuff. Check the Asheville Craigs list, musicians board. I see some on there looking for music for wedding partys, etc.

I noticed this back when I used to send physical disks and books for my aftermarket BiaB products (before electronic delivery):

Some times the US Postal Service is faster than UPS, some times slower. Any time a package crosses international borders, all bets are off. I've had some shipments held up an unreasonably long time and others go right through. I am guessing that either the border people do a spot check of an entire shipment or something an a truck (or whatever) arouses their suspicion.

I know we all want our toys immediately, but some times it just doesn't happen that way.

My BiaB packages have always come by UPS.
Never by USPS.

PS: UPS is great! Please PGM, never ever use FedEx.

Actually, I like UPS, FedEx and USPS about the same, they all generally do a good job in my area, the one that doesn't is DHL. It seems that half the DHL shipments to me either get delivered to the wrong address or missed entirely (when missed, DHL usually tells me nobody was home which of course is absurd since I work out of my house during the day).

But I guess that could vary by location.

Check the Yellow Pages in your area for booking agents and get your promotional materials to them. A booking agent will take 10 to 15% of your take but you won't have to run around trying to sell yourself to every business within a couple of hundred miles of your base of operations.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
