I'd love to have samples of the drumkits that where used during the recording of the RealDrums. By this I mean (dry) samples from the kick, snare, toms hat etc. With these samples you can easily edit the generated RealDrum tracks in your DAW using a MIDI-controller or even by drawing in the MIDI-data. This enables you to create a drumtrack completely the way you want it.
I now sample the drums by chopping the generated RealDrum tracks using hitpoints. But this doesn't work 100% because of crosstalk and double hits. Clean samples would be the way to go. Ofcourse the RealDrums need to have an information tag telling which kit was used.

Mike there are literally thousands of drum samples on the market today that you can do exactly the same thing with. There are also programs that do all the heavy lifting for you like jamstix and BFD. and such.
You can't edit RDs with midi controllers, since they are not midi, nor are they constructed by midi. They are audio tracks built to the structure of the bar part markers.
If you want to build Drum tracks from scratch with one shots and hits that is so available now. Big Fish audio, and a gazillion others have everything you want. You can paint them in, or use a sampler program to "play" them in with a midi controller or the piano roll and a mouse.
Maybe what you are asking is to add more hits in of the same kit like tossing in a snare or cymbol hit at specific times? That might be nice to have as one shots. Am i understanding you now?

That's not what I meant.
I use BiaB to generate RealDrum tracks (and other instrument tracks). These tracks are then imported in Cubase. I now have a raw version of the song, ready to be edited in Cubase. OK, back to the drums. The thing with generated RD tracks is that sometimes some hits and fills just don't sound right in the arrangement. Now with MIDI-drum-tracks it's no problem; just edit the parts and your new hits and fills will sound exactly like the rest of the drumtrack since they are played by the same softsynth or samples. RD's are, like you said, wave-files; actual sound, not MIDI-data. If I want to add extra hits and fills to a drum-track I can create an extra drum-track in my DAW to play these hits and fills on a MIDI-controller. If I would use a sample-set from a different kit than the RD's are played on, you will hear the difference in sound between these two drum kits. If you knew which kit was used in certain RealDrum styles and you would have a sample-set of this particular drum kit, you could add fills and hits to your song and have them blend in with the generated RealDrum track.

I do understand, and you already have this capability to a point you can open and play the Rts in a wave file player, and from there clip out and use any part you want. But i know what you mean, you want a set of one shots so you have the parts at your finger tips. Nice idea, but i worry that would take a long time and a lot of resources, to do, taking away time from future development. It is so easy to cut and paste parts out of the tracks as they are.

Mike sings, Have you checked near the end of the Realdrums' audio files? Often there are single hits on all the drums and cymbals used in the kit. I'm not sure if this applies to all RDs or just some. Regards, Noel

Another possible approach that has been requested here is to separate the RealDrums into stems for each part of the kit. This would be terrific.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
