Will Band In A Box send chord changes via midi to work with the midi in on an external vocal harmonizer? I'd like to try that, but not sure how to set it up. The GM drop-down menu has so many options to select. Anyone using BIAB this way?

Yes. Look in Opts Pref there are presets.
I use the soloist ch and assign Midi 5 to it. Set to output triads as default.
I then put codes for patch changes on the soloist track so if I want preset 3.3 I send instrument 33 out on ch 5 which of course I assigned to ch 5 midi in the midi channels box.

I have not tried with BiaB, but i do it all the time with RB. I just setup a track to specifically run the harmonizer, and it does it all on/off, key, voices, effects, patch.
Lenovo Win 10 16 gig ram, Mac mini with 16 gig of ram, BiaB 2022, Realband, Harrison Mixbus 32c version 9.1324, Melodyne 5 editor, Presonus Audiobox 1818VSL, Presonus control app, Komplete 49 key controller.

What happens if you're using all Real Tracks with a vocal harmonizer? Can it still be done, or does one track have to be devoted to midi?

You make one track devoted to midi. Match the midi channel on the vocalizer to that track. Use that track to change the settings, for example, thicken the voice for 20 bars, then switch to a trio for 10 bars, then mute it for a few bars. It's not hard at all. So if you are using the computer in the setup the commands get sent at the right bar.
The limitation of that is some people, myself included, like to make and use mp3's of tracks. At that point you need plan b. One way I can deal with that is to use my keyboard out to the vocalizer,, set it to ch 5 and take the line out to the mixer. I play along with chords and the vocalizer gets the chord and does it's thing. Don't change patches on the keyboard or the vocalizer goes into cartoon voice or something and the jig is up.
The setup in Band in a Box or Real Tracks is about the same with a vocal thing, however I'm not sure there is the midi out for dummies screen in Real Tracks. Band in a Box has a screen just to manage the midi out to the vocaliser.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
