I created a nice Blue Grass backing track using Style BG Band Straight Ahead Bluegrass (130 RS)#5... Now I would like to put a count in, in front of it 1,2,3,4,1... But when I go to Options & find the correct Count In, I can't get it to work... Would appreciate help in how to do this... thanks in advance..

Hi. I think I get the problem, but not sure of the solution. Looks like most BG styles dont use drums, and the lead in appears to be always on that track on the side stick. No drum track, no lead in.
If you choose style _BOOGFIM, one of the few BGs with drums, you get the count in.
BTW there is at least one BG style which shows drums, but there is no drum trcak when you play it!
I tried playing around with some ideas but no obvious solution. But then I'm a noob. Good luck!

Thanks much for your try at helping.. I never thought of that, about no drums, yet I'm hoping there could be a way to get a count in..Maybe Metronome????

Yes, Metronome. Try lead-in, visible only, unless you need an audible count-in.

Simply create the style's RealTrack of its drum track on some unused track, such as the Solo track. Then replace the RealTrack on the drum track by some RealDrums and have the track muted. Find the appropriate settings in the Pref/Count-in dialog to hear a nice count-in despite a muted drum track - and you're all set.
It would be good if PG Music would enhance the Pref/Count-in dialog to cover that use case without having users perform some sort of Chinese fire drill.

If you have a style with no Realtrack drums invoked, you should still hear a countin.
If you don't hear a countin it is likely due to not having the MIDI synth set up to play correctly.

Yes, I found similar. Go to Solist track and add realdrums - seems to work.

Look in BiaB under the Options menu -> MIDI/Audio...
In the window that opens, you will see a listing of MIDI output choices on RH side, these are the older type software synths that you may have installed and available on your computer. The highlighted one is the one that will play unless the "Use DXi" box down below is checked, invoking a DXi or VSTi MIDI synth.

I would like an audible count In, but If I can't get the midi set up properly as suggested by Mac, then the visual metronome will have to suffice.. For my purpose I will be using BG fairly often, so I hope I can get the audible click working.

John - I'm not sure you need midi. Try going to the soloist track, and add any Realdrums using the Realdrums icon.
That should work Ok even without midi. Then you should get your count in. If you dont want the drums, mute them, and you should still get your count in. Seems to work OK on mine.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
