Hello All,
I'm working on some Neopolitan songs similar to Funiculi Funicula. I found a midi for one of them online and the tempo is 190 when I open it in PT.
It's in 6/8 but PT won't display notation so I change to 4/4. It looks and sounds right.
When I generate a Celtic Realdrums, the 190 tempo is of course way too fast,. I switch to BB and open the midi in the sequencer. Now the tempo is126 BPM. I'm glad I found the midi and have come to expect these anomalies. After generating separate audio files of the 190 midi and the 126 Realdrums, I just mixed them together and the 126 BPM drum track matches up perfectly with the 190 BPM track.
Does anyone have an idea why PT and BB interpret different BPMs?

I'm not sure, but I think it is nothing but math:
126/2*3=189 (or the other way around: 190/3*2=126 rounded)
4/4 is 4 beats per measure, id est that's two thirds of the 6 beats per measure of a 6/8 time signature.
Internal mathematical operations seem to convert beats per minute to measures per minute even if beats per minute are shown.

I play quite a bit of Italian music and I've been working on a version of Rocco Granata's 'Marina' for a number of years, but
without his signature accordion riffs, it just never sounded right. So the other day I'm doing another midi search for the song and came across a recent Youtube link.
Rocco is on an Austrian show called "Musikantenstadl" and performed 'Marina'.
He's got to be 80 years old and still sounds great.

You just made my day! What a fantastic midi; accordion and guitar sound great. Just need to find the appropriate Realdrums.
Electrofresh has some very good midis. Don't know how I overlooked this one.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first?
