I am new to BIAB. I just entered the chords to Autumn Leaves. For the A part I used 1 and 2 endings. For the B part I entered all 16 bars. In song settings I unchecked generate 2 bar ending. I saved and when I reopened it a bar 33b appeared. The bar contains the last chord in my b part. What feature do I have to turn off to prevent this?

Did you freeze the tracks after the first edit, and forget to unfreeze/re-refreeze after the second?
Just a thought,

Here are two possibilities.
If the 33rd bar is grayed out in the chord sheet then it won't play. It is remnent from having the automated 2 bar ending, which you disabled. Dont' worry about it.
If you have your pick-up notes in bar one, instead of before it, then the chorus starts on bar two and goes to bar 33.

Hi bluestraveler,
I'm with Jim. BIAB requires a chord in what would be the 2-bar ending region of a song whether or not the ending is actually used. If you have disabled generating the ending, bar 33b should not play.
Regards, Noel

I am really impressed with the capabilities of the program however I see it does have some quirks. Consequently I am going with the remnant theory.
Another odd thing I noticed is that when I record it as a wav file it starts to play the first chorus and then zones out to either random sounds or nothing. Any suggestions.
Thanks for the help.

I'm not quite following what you mean. Are you referring to using the "Record wav" button? If so, this is for recording an external input from a microphone. If you could outline a step-by-step process of what you do, it would be very helpful.

You say you are trying to record it as a WAV file. Are you going to the Audio menu, then "Render MIDI to Sterio WAV file, etc."? That's were you would save your BiaB arrangement to an audio file.
If you go to the Help index (F1), and type in WAV, this process will be the first one listed. You can see what all the various buttons are for.

I am using the .WAV icon on the main screen which says it is the "render to Wav file" function. In the popup box I choose DXI direct render option. I have played with stereo and normalize switches and they don't seem to matter. It goes through about 9 bars and then goes out in left field.

There was a build "update" to address the "extra" notes of certain Real Tracks. Have you updated to the latest build?

Hi again, Here's a PG Music tutorial on rendering to wav that is well worth looking through. http://www.pgmusic.com/tutorial_bbwrender.htmNote, if you have a 64-bit operating system on your computer, you'll need to use the Coyote Wave table as your DXi and not Roland VSC. Regards, Noel

Maybe we are getting somewhere. I just purchased 2011 and installed it from the disc so everything should be up to date. The manual says under "Output to software synthesizers (DXi and VSTi)" that "You can also directly render your performance to a .wave file using the plug in."
When I go to Opt, Midi/Audio Driver Setup I see that "use VST/DXi synth" box is checked, "route midi through midi driver" box is checked, and the VST/DXI Synth setting/Audio track has "none" in all the lines. I think the "none" is the problem.

Yep. That could be the problem. In the top slot, you need to select "Coyote Wave Table". That should do the job. Just click on the top bar under the heading "Plugin".

As it turns out the Synth tab had Coyote Wave Table in the first slot. I changed it to VSI/DXI and everything now works. Thanks for holding my hand through this. I don't totally understand why this works but heh -- it works.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
