I am just starting to add some canned music to my performances. I play guitar and sing, and would like to add some tracts or take some out? If I download a midi file from the internet, can I make one with all of the instruments, and one with the bass out? My son and I play and he plays the bass, and would like to drop the bass line, or if someone is playing lead guitar can I take that tract out in real band. Also I saw a duo last Friday night and they were using a foot pedal for volume control. They were using 3-1/2 discs in a key board for the midi? I would like to use my computer and work up a whole set with a whole band just for single work and another set with out the bass so my son can pick along?? Any info will be helpful.

Hi Rennie...
If you are playing your MIDI file through RealBand or another sequencing program, you can turn individual tracks off and on without having to delete the track entirely. That way if your bass player doesn't show up, you can simply turn the bass track back on and the show can continue.
If you are saving the songs as MP3s however, you'll lose the individuality of each track, so you won't be able to turn tracks on and off.
BY the way, what you want to do is being done by many on this forum. You came to the right place.

Best of luck Rennie, what Pat said was quite true. I am one of those that are performing in this manner. One thing you need to look out for with midi tracks off of the internet is that some are good, some are so-so, most are absolute rubbish. Listen to and download a lot, then select the ones you want to work with.
I have a small collection of around 10 - 15 thousand songs you can have, but time required to email these would be extremely long. If no-one in US can help you out, let me know & I can burn a DVD in Australia & send it to you.
Would be good if there was a spot at this forum where these sorts of files could be stored for people to download.

Good idea about having a free user donated midi file database much like the Tips video section here at PG. Put it in the RB Wishlist. Carkins

If you use Rb, or BiaB you can use the juke box to handle the files. I set a specific amount of time between each song.
Lenovo Win 10 16 gig ram, Mac mini with 16 gig of ram, BiaB 2022, Realband, Harrison Mixbus 32c version 9.1324, Melodyne 5 editor, Presonus Audiobox 1818VSL, Presonus control app, Komplete 49 key controller.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
