I am running Realband 2010.5 Release 2 on Windows 7. I have an M-Audio fast track Ultra with ASIO driver.
After recording 1 or 2 audio tracks,, it will usually crash at some point while I am playing back the audio and adjusting mixer and effects settings. The only effects I have used are the PG Dynamics and PG Reverb.

It could be one of several things such as ASIO buffer size, or TEMP file being full.
To best advise you, we could do with more information, like what form does the crash take? Does it hang (lock up) or is it something like distorted playback?
ROG.

I get a pop-up that says "RealBand has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
My only option on the pop-up is to click a "Close Program" button.
Just now I tried to reproduce the crash. Didn't take much. I loaded a .seq file with one stereo wave track that I had imported, and two mono audio tracks which I had recorded in an overdub fashion with the stereo track. I clicked the "PLAY" icon and in about 30 seconds, I got the pop-up described above, and the program hung.
I saw your response about TEMP file being full to another post where there was a problem with crashing. I don't know how the TEMP file is managed by Windows and RealBand, but I was thinking this would be unlikely because I haven't used this computer or RealBand very much since they were new.
Guess I don't know much about the TEMP file. Is there some admin setting I'm supposed to adjust so that it gets managed properly?

By the way I did some checking after the re-starting the program. When it asked me if it should look for ASIO drivers, I clicked "Yes". I selected my driver (M-Audio USB 2.0 ASIO" from the list, and it came up with some info, which included buffer size. It is:
buffer size in samples: min=128 max=4096 pref=256 granularity=1 actual ASIO buffer size in MS: 5.80 actual ASIO sample rate used: 44100 (Resampler NOT in use)
My computer is a HP model HPE-112y. AMD Phenom II X4 925 Processor 2.80 GHz. Installed memory 8.00 GB. 64-bit operating system. Running Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1.
By the way, I looked for info on a TEMP file in RealBand Help and found nothing helpful. Same with a search of Windows Help.

If you have MME drivers try those and see if the problem goes away. Then we know it's an ASIO setting. In Audio prefs just switch to MME drivers and try it.
Audio temp file location is set in the audio prefs window too. Also, is the M-Audio unit itself set to 44100 or 48000? There can be mismatches in bitrates that could cause this. Lots of possibilities with ASIO that could be narrowed down by trying MME.
Make your sound your own! .. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
