I too thank all the Vets, and those currently serving. But please keep in mind, Memorial Day is a remembrance of those who gave their life in service to their country. Veteran's Day honors those who are still with us.

Of course, but any opportunity to recognize both, is time well spent in my book. I am off to our local town service in a half hour. My son plays in the HS Band and will be playing at the VFW Center for the service. I feel the tears whelling im my eyes already.

I was US Army, 1970-1973, with an 18 month tour in Vietnam.

Thoughts and prayers out to all the men and women currently deployed. Happy holiday to you all and please stay safe.

To the veterans on here, "Welcome home".

I am using the new 1040XTRAEZ form this year. It has just 2 lines.

1. How much did you make in 2023?
2. Send it to us.

Was USAF 61-68, no combat, only surveillance flights, crew member not pilot.
I wish..... My grandfather was a Vet in WW I, deployed to Europe.

My hat is off to all the troops, and returnee's from current conflicts.
Wars are terrible, but these times injuries suffered are so terrible.

I wrote this some years ago, hope no offense is taken, not intended that way.

This was for Memorial Day.... 2006

Time Without End for Our Fallen

Our government does tinker in places it does not Belong,
The lawyers, and politicians mess with it all Along,
A few Vocal people shouted shift our Holidays,
So three day weekends would give us more time to Play.

The yappers are few, but many with hands out, they Are,
They seem to control our destiny's, our future they Mar,
In spite of their efforts, are Nation is still a bright Star,
Let the Yappers and gladhanders snivel from Afar.

This Memorial day for many soldiers who have Fallen,
From Parents, wifes, loved ones, they were Stolen,
But their lives, limbs not lost in Vain, for this Great Nation,
The ultimate price their families and they gave was our Salvation.

For Letting The Fallen ones Sleep silenty in their Graves,
Through hundreds of years of sacrifice they came in Waves,
Bodies broken and maimed as we remember On This Memorial Day,
This is the Land of the Free, And Home of the Solders Brave.

Here you go Seeker, with my personal thankyou for your service -

"Off we go into the wild blue yonder, Climbing high into the sun; Here they come zooming to meet our thunder, At 'em boys, Give 'er the gun! (Give 'er the gun now!) Down we dive, spouting our flame from under, Off with one helluva roar! We live in fame or go down in flame. Hey! Nothing'll stop the U.S. Air Force!"

U.S. Army 1972-1974--Military Intelligence--Slavic Desk--Germany.

My appreciation for Western democracy began here at age 19-20. It was astonishing to observe what people in the Eastern bloc would do to be in the West.

US Army 9th infantry division 74-77.
At my church service sunday a vietnam vet got up and shared a story about a fellow named Joe that saved his life but lost his doing so. It was really a heart touching story. I don't think there was a dry eye in the place.
My heart goes out to all those serving today.
God Bless you all
Brian

I thought some folks would be moved by this. It's by a guy who won the Great American Song Contest(not for this song, but another). The link is to the video - the song is called "Not My Son."

All gave some.....some gave all.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
