Heard this on the early morning news. No conclusions, just the facts.
1. Dr. Dre at $110 million, based partly on sales of his Beats brand headphones.
2. Roger Waters at $88 million, based partly on his "The Wall" tour.
3. Elton John. I missed the amount because my jaw was hanging at Roger's accomplishment. I knew he was doing okay, but . . . erm, my goodness. I didn't know that music was still that lucrative.

How about a list of the Bottom top-earning musicians. I know I am on that list, likely tied for first place with many, as I earned zero dollars from my music in 2012  Then perhaps we need a list of the Top Spending Musicians. How much did you spend in 2012 on your music?

Records, the largest advance in recording history. I got this from a website that I found about Elton John. So about $359 million

I read recently where most of Dr. Dre's income is the licensing for the headphones. Which, I must say, are awful sounding. I am biased in this opinion, but I stick by it.

Nobody has yet been able to explain to me what "Beats" is supposed to be, though my HTC phone has it. Everything has a "beat" including my heart.
And surely nobody will convince me that those headphones are worth $359 unless they are delivered by a hooker driving a food truck.
I am using the new 1040XTRAEZ form this year. It has just 2 lines.
