Foot, I may buy the Logitech's for my wife. She's getting into music mp3s and Home Theater big-time. Thanks, Mac! I have several Logitech products and have been very happy with them.

I got confirmation this morning that my MS40s have shipped. Amazon now shows 9 pair in stock.

I doubt Don would hate the Behringer monitors, I've mixed on them, matter of fact they are in quite a lot of music schools these days, also Journalism and Radio/TV production classes and suites.

Likely the Beancounters, brother.

After all, the Berry's do represent a good bang per buck.

And, as I was trying to say up there, they really can get the job done just fine.

I noticed that Amazon has some used pairs at $120. Assuming they haven't had all of the smoke let out, that's a tempting price.

Bob, they are on the way. I was thinking more for the wee missus. She will want some when she hears QVC and HSN (the Shopping Channels) through mine. Giggle! Really, she is getting involved in music and has a nice Toshiba flat screen and a new laptop. She's getting the bug for better quality sound.

Not to disrespect any of the previoid posts in any way at all, just another angle to look at the subject: $100 for a pair of serious monitors is not a lot of money. $100 for a pair of headphones will get you out of the average consumer grade stuff. I'm not saying that you can mix a hittecord using cans and I won't say it's imposdible to mix s hitrecord on entry level monitors.
Just a thought.

Mike, this blinking capitalist already has good cans. The management encourages me to entertain the other residents so that leaves headphones out. I have old ladies park their wheelchairs on my threshold and tap their feet in perfect time to the music. If I try to sneak a catnap they give me that familiar "Where's the beef?" look.

I just KNEW someone would come along and be thinking only about nearfields in the studio on this thread!

Haha, yes what a stupid idea! I mean, the title of the thread says it all, doesn't it?

You should've negotiated with the management to get them to sponsor your monitors

I didn't read every post in this thread, just focussed on the main question. I also noticed a lot of typos in my post; the combination thick fingers and touch screen smartphone for posting on the net should be reconsidered

The answer we were looking for is ...
"Who is Howard"

Maybe they are not as well known as I thought (?)

Okay folks, got my MS40s up and running today, finally. Wow, what a difference! Excellent bass response and they are crystal clear across the entire audio spectrum. I can't crank 'em above 20% so I have headroom to spare.

Thanks all for all of the guidance.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
