Here is something quite old that I have rejuvenated with BIAB & PT. Aside from writing the song, all I did performance wise, was play rhythm guitar and sing. Hope it's enjoyed..

Got To See It Through

It's cold, plodding along this old, familiar road.
And it feels like I've been here before.
Winter's here, and I wish I were home,
But I've got a job to do, and I've got to see it through.

So don't, try to tell me that I don't have to go,
Just repeat the things I need to know.
And I will - be sure to give my all,
I won't be untrue to you, 'cos I've got to see it through.

In a world that's getting smaller, there's no future in the past,
So I wont stop to hang my head, and I won't look back.
And though I know I'm being watched by wolves in disguise,
I've won't waste every breath I take, living out a lie.

Say Lord? With so many to choose from for this test,
What makes me so different from the rest?
Will this be a there and back again?
What is it you want me to prove?
What is it you think I can do?

As I fight for the things in life, that mean so much to me,
I won't let no timid minds, detract me from my dreams.
There's gotta be some place in time, where my heart can sing.
Where I won't hide a child inside, always beckoning.

So on, on I go, down this lonesome road,
Wandering, toward some surreal goal.
But I've got news, that you'll be glad to know,
If it's the last thing that I do, I have got to see it through.

Yes, I know what I must do, and I've got to see it through.

Also, I still have the National Recording Academy of Arts and Sciences 'Grammy Amplifer' competition, I am involved in, and still promoting. Leave it to me to enter one of my hardest songs to sing into a contest sponsored by thousands of musical professionals.. I'll be polishing my entry, I reckon, until the final gun sounds, because it's the one advantage I have over a studio production; the ability to update it as often as I like..;) I am heading back to work on it from here..

I like the theme of this and especially the above quoted lyric lines. A little more variation in the backing tracks maybe... In some spots there seems to be a timing issue with the acoustic guitar that's panned left.

Very heartfelt.

Good luck.

Hi pariahdise,

The first thing that struck me was how well produced the backing soundd. I got the impression that a great deal of effort has gone into putting this track together. If that's the case, it was worth it!

Also, I agree with Sundance when she said "Very heartfelt". As the song progressed the emotional intensity increased and I found myself becoming quite involved with the song.

I enjoyed the listen!

All the best,
Noel

Yeah, Josie, you are right, I suspected there are spots where some tracks just don't quite mesh properly, thanks for pointing that out. I think I will try to sort that out today. Thanks Noel, as well, this did take some working on. But rather than worry too much about it, I just threw this one up here hoping for the best, but not expecting a standing ovation This song, was not so self-examining in nature until very recently. It was written in my youth, when I first started writing songs, about a fictional character from a famous novel, with bits of me in it. After reviving it, I decided to re-write the lyric as best I could to have it reflect more completely upon me, which I knew might lessen its popular appeal..

Thanks floyd, I've been emulating your production technique The tips you have offered, have been very useful to me, invaluable actually. I just updated the wav file for this one @ Soundcloud. I don't think I've fixed it up completely, but the vocal has been more than 50% re-done, while I tried to check the timing, as well; making only minor adjustments there, thus far.

Thanks, as well, Tano, yeah it's in progress, sorry, but I like to post em up that way, in order to receive suggestions on how to improve my songs, from members here. Certainly, can't hurt my efforts to trial run here.

Thanks for listening.. Much obliged.

I agree with both Josie and Noel.

This song has a ton of potential IMHO. A change or two in the backing tracks would help but what ever you do do not change the lyrics. They are fantastic.

If I could make one suggestion it would be this. On your vocals there are times when you take a word, through and do come to mind, and sing it with two notes, mostly an F down to a C. Personally I think that detracts from the song. Keeping the note on an F like you did in other places sounds much better to me. Of course that is just my opinion and others may disagree.

Keep working on this and good luck.

Interesting suggestion on the singing side of things, Mario, your thought had only just occurred to me on the last vocal take that's why near the end I sing 'you'll be glad to know' instead of 'you'll be glad to 'knowuwoah' I'm on top of it, but with the contest deadline nearing, it will have wait.

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
