Dear Biab 2013 Experts --
How can one show the bass line in the Lead Sheet Window?
For example, I generally switch to Lead Sheet Window to print my songs to PDF.
They show the "standard" lead sheet, with chord symbols and the melody line on the Treble Clef.
I would like to show one instance of the bass line that is played, on the Bass Clef, so there will be the Grand Staff (2 staffs).
How can I do that?
(Of course, I want to show the auto-generated bass line, because I do not want to type it in myself in order to save time, etc, and it will be used just to give the bass player and idea of what to play and, since this is Fusion, the bass will not play the same thing each time anyway-- but he wants the bass line to help him get started, etc.)
Please advise.
Thanks.

In the lead sheet window, there are some buttons at the top middle of the screen. Those are for the parts - B will show the Bass part. From there, you can play around options by pressing the Opt button.

Hi Mark, If it's MIDI the bass line will show. However, if it's a Real Track, the notation will only show if there is a green underscore below BASS towards the top, between COMBO and PIANO.
Cheers, Keith

Dear Keith -- Regarding this... Quote:

...that is good to know and I switched to MIDI and the bass seems to show now, and it is a step in the right direction.
BUT, now I have a slightly different problem.
In the Lead Sheet Window preview, it shows 1 treble staff with the melody on it, and that staff is paired with 1 bass staff with the bass line on it and that is exactly what I want printed.
BUT when I print I get 4 staffs total (2 sets of 2 staffs). One set is (treble and bass) with the melody in the treble and the bass all rests. The other set is (treble and bass) with the bass line on the bass staff and the treble staff all rests. Ug.
One can see a screeshot of the good Lead Sheet Window, and sample PDF of the bad output, and the source Biab file here...

...so can you (or can anyone) help with that?
Please advise.
Thanks.

Try changing the Notation Options display such that it shows only Treble clef for the right instrument key and Bass clef for the Bass track.
You likely have it currently set to show both staves for each.
There is a dropdown slot towards the lower center of the Notation Options window where you can select what to display for each track from a list.
TIP: Use the "Print Preview" to view the results before printing and save time, paper and ink that way. Print Preview shows exactly how it will look without having to hit Print.

...thanks for that, I did figure that part previously, and it is good to have a reminder.
I appreciate your kindness and I am grateful for it.
However, even with all the suggestions here so far, I still cannot get it, which is probably me, I suppose.
To state the problem more clearly, perhaps I should say the following.
Please look at both the print-preview-screenshot and the print-output-pdf here...
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/0ymq1gvp0o2yoah/8nOD7JrEjb/Temp-Files/
Then, please tell me why they are so different?
That is-- why doesn't the print-output-pdf look like the print-preview-screenshot?
That seems, pardon me Biab, a bit broken, somewhere, right? I mean, the print-preview should be a representation of what gets printed, correct? But, in this case they are wildly different, so that is not working as expected, maybe?
I will grant that I am a novice, and the problem may, likely, be somewhere between the my computer-keyboard and the seat I am sitting on. But, I still cannot get past the view that the print-preview and the print-output are 2 completely different things, and I have to ask-- why is that?
Anyway, I will keep working with this. I need to figure out how to do it, or find a workaround, or ask to have it fixed. It is still as clear-as-mud to me now. As such, any and all help is greatly appreciated. I plan to try to get some time to make a step-by-step screenshot document of what I am doing and the exact settings that I am using. It is complicated to me because there are several options screens, and some of them nested, and some setting-names seem to exist multiple places. So, any help is welcome.
Thanks.

I downloaded your posted .MGU file and opened it in my copy of BB.
Had to hit GenPlay in order to populate the autoaccompaniment tracks after loading the songfile. That's normal, or I won't see those tracks, only Melody.
Was able to do exactly what you want the first try when going into LeadSheet view and simply clicking ctrl-Bass to see both tracks.
And that is because my Notation Options are already set up to do that, reread what I told you to do earlier.
Chart looks fine, Print Preview looks fine, Prints fine, with just one Treble staff with Melody on it and just one Bass staff with the Bass part on it.
Of course, if you've already done that and no joy on your end, try the Options -> Return to Factory Settings inside BB because sometimes the program's volatile files become corrupted and that is what the Return to Fatory is there for.

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
