OP 1973jamesreid Newbie 1 Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 14	Hello, I run band in a box 2012.5 using windows 7. I cannot open the programme at all when I click on the band in a box icon on screen. I would appreciate any help on finding a solution to this. Thanks.

Select Properties Check that the exe file is the same as below (depending on your drive letter that you run the program from), and that if you click Open File Location, it finds and shows the bbw.exe file. Do you run Band In A Box from a removable drive? Is the drive connected and working? Otherwise, if you cannot locate the exe, suggest reinstalling. BIAB & RB2024 Win.(Audiophile), Sonar Platinum, Cakewalk by Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M Monitors, Pioneer Active Monitors, AKG K271 Studio H'phones

Aurelio Biz Enthusiast Joined: Jan 2013 Posts: 58 Brazil	I have the same problem here under Windows 7, suddenly my BB 2013 does not launch. I uninstalled and installed again and it does not work. The process bbw.exe is in memory but the program never shows up. Realband works though... Last edited by abif; 06/04/13 07:00 AM.

bert70656 Enthusiast B Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 95	I had that trouble once and found that there was another instance of RB or BIAB running. Open Task Manager and under 'processes' make sure BIAB or RB is already running. If so quit those processes and re-try opening BIAB. Hope this helps.

Not needed in Windows 7, so that's not the issue with him, but a different utility could be installed on his that could be conflicting. In my case Kent from PGMusic Support came with the solution: "Try deleting the files "interface.bbw" and "mysetup.dk" from the Band-in-a-Box folder (usually C:\BB). This will return the program to factory settings, and may help." Thank you all that tried to help and I hope this tip helps someone else.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
