Forum friends!! Good day! I don't post here much but that is only because I am practicing and working on my music career each day! Can't post and practice at the same time! Seriously, I am still in genuine woodshed mode!

So, it has been 1 year since I set out to really develop and master my skills on guitar in country music. I have an original post here somewhere with a video file (which has since been re-recorded at much faster speeds LOL)

Here is a new video (There are several now on YT): The content of the video is my 3rd original FULL song tune that I teach on my new instructional DVD which is aimed at the aspiring professional. It is an intermediate/advanced instructional disc that is very complete (3 discs). It should be available in 8 weeks. I teach exactly what I did to gain such huge improvements in a year. Mindset, tools and practice content for rapid growth. I find it best to learn/improve when you put yourself into a position to teach what you want to learn. I still have a great road ahead obviously, but I am enjoying each step of the process.

Included in the DVD are my resources and PG Music is mentioned often as BIAB has been such a big help in my progress (massive understatement). That said, in this tune you may recognize the first 10 notes of the solo as coming directly from my PG Brent Mason Guitar Star course LOL, which is mentioned as well. It was intentional. You'll also recognize the drums as a RT foundation for all of the tunes.

Anyway, thank you for watching and any comments here or on YouTube are really appreciated!
BTW, the whole tune is pretty cooking to play but if you just want the fastest stuff, the solo starts at 1:30 LOL!

"Fire In The Barn"

Thank you and Cheers!! RG

Thank You Floyd! I am well and hope the same to you!

Improve? Ha Ha...Goodness yes! I feel like I have stepped through Stage 1 which now allows me the chance to look at whats happening in Stage 2. A bit more serious in Stage 2! Sometimes, even as a professional I find myself playing with players who really have it...and the contrast drives me back to books! The whole journey is the whole jounrey! 10,000 hours and all. Cheers!

Ah, the dedication to discipline that can come from Deep Desire.

You are a sterling example.

This be what it be all about, folks!

Very. Strong. Performance.

He's drilled the katas daily, is now ready to take on and defeat any and all comers. And able to throw the katas out the window when necessary as well.

All the best on your well earned endeavors,

Thank you Mac! I sincerely appreciate it. I feel VERY inspired to improve this year. Once you get a bit of a feel for the progress, it just adds gasoline to the flame! I found some new teachers and a re-commitment to the fundamentals. Plus 2 new DVDs coming out in next couple of months. Exciting stuff! Cheers!

One of the first things I noticed as a young man who was rather graciously given the chance to perform with a few of the much older jazz players out there was that those cats, some well into their 70s, were STILL enjoying the art and practice of woodshedding.

And, not a single one of them suffered from sedentary mental dementia, either. Sharp as tacks, just slower to get out of the chair kinda thang.

I'll never forget one of those oldsters, a trombonist first and foremost who could also play every other instrument in the bigband, or so it seemed, his term for "Alzheimer's" --

He called it, "OldTimer's Disease" - and then would usually follow that up with the old, "You gotta use it, or you will lose it!"

Ever witness an 80 year old Judokan or Sensei on the mat, taking out handfuls of much younger attackers and never breaking a sweat?

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
