I know there are unlimited possible configurations of systems out there but maybe someone else has noticed this. I installed BiaB/RealBand 2014 tonight into the same folder as version 2013. The install seemed to go fine until the last step - "registering files". It held at that screen for twenty minutes before I 'canceled' the process. When I start the programs the new versions are what open but in my uninstaller and Windows 'Add/Remove Programs' what is displayed is Band-in-a-Box 2013 and Hi-Q and the other plug-ins show the date that I installed version 2013. Is this normal because I installed into the same folders? Thank you.

Having to close out from an installation leaves things unstable.
Did you try installing it again?
That said, Realband (if you installed it) shows the correct version here, but the older install date in Add/Remove programs. I believe it is the date the program is first installed, not the last update. The uninstall will uninstall the program you originally installed, not just the last update, so it makes sense.
Funny enough I only see BiaB server there in Add/Remove Programs area, not regular BiaB. Maybe I've been running it just from the hard drive.
Make your sound your own! .. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

I know there are unlimited possible configurations of systems out there but maybe someone else has noticed this. I installed BiaB/RealBand 2014 tonight into the same folder as version 2013. Where exactly is that folder located on the drive, which drive is it, and what is your Operating System? If, for example, you have installed to c:\Program Files, there could be routines preventing writing to registry, such as Windows built in Write Protection, or possibly could be due to Antivirus program and settings there, which are also designed to prevent programs from performing Writes. In some instances, it is also important to be logged on as Administrator in order to perform the successful complete install. Not to worry, though, once you've sorted out that situtation, a reinstall will likely be all that's needed. If the old bb is indeed in the Program Files, all that need be done is copy the entire folder from there to somewhere else, the default of c:\bb being a very good choice. Then rerun the installer files on it. As Administrator. --Mac

Thanks Mac and rharv. I know I can be impatient but I thought 20 minutes was too long for the install to finish. I just rolled my system back to a time before I installed the new version over the old. I did a fresh install of version 2014 and it went fine. Could have just been a glitch at that particular time. I often do not install programs to the default locations - I have separate hard drives for music & video editors - but that rarely creates a problem. Anyway, thank you and Happy Holidays everyone!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
