I am trying to find out how to use RealBand and my Vocal Effects Plugin for Live online streaming. I usually stream with a small utility called Butt. Odd name yes but the thing works. I can also stream with Winamp. They have a plugin for that. At any rate I was told that I could use my iZotope effects plugin for a live situation. The below paragraph was written by iZotope telling me I could do this. I have to write them again about Tracking Mode. I don't even see where I turn tracking mode on. Seems I have to use this to stream. They talk about the output of my DAW. Is there an output on RealBand?

Nectar 2 includes a feature called 'Tracking mode', which uses less CPU-intensive and low-latency processing, which you could use during a live performance. However, as Nectar 2 needs a DAW in order to be used, your streaming tool would need to be able to host Nectar as a VST plug-in. Another option would be to send the output of your DAW as an audio input to your streaming tool. That said, I unfortunately cannot further assist in configuring Nectar 2 for this setup.

So you think I can open RealBand and my Vocal Effects plugin and somehow send it to an output of RealBand? I don't know about an output. Is there an output as they mentioned? It would be nice to use these great effects to stream live with and do some singing with these great effects. I will have to read about Tracking Mode also to see what that is about.

Ok thanks,
Sly

Sly the answer is and was yes. But everyone is warning you that you are asking for issues, as it could very well glitch put on you. Most DAWs are not a safe place to use effects for live performance. They just are not designed that way. You can try, but if it craps out during a performance well, be prepared.

The best way to use live effects is with hardware solutions. Or as I do use g the software mixer of the audio interface. In this regard the Presonus interfaces with the VSL mixer works best, as it has the complete package of effects at your service.

Lenovo Win 10 16 gig ram, Mac mini with 16 gig of ram, BiaB 2022, Realband, Harrison Mixbus 32c version 9.1324, Melodyne 5 editor, Presonus Audiobox 1818VSL, Presonus control app, Komplete 49 key controller.

I have TC-Helicon Voice Live Play GTX for some nice vocal effects. It is just that this iZotope Vocal Suite plugin Nectar 2 has some nice radio show presets and other singing vocal effects I may like for my live streaming. I will keep researching but it may just be good for recording. Thanks

Hi Sly Ruby,
I too am always looking at better ways of getting great vocals. I also have the VLP GTX. This has been the best tool I have found so far. I have used BIAB to create backing tracks and run a line out from my PC into the aux input. No need for a mixer. The big challenge for me is getting the sound levels similar through each song.

I have also tried to use recording software for vocal effects. I have used a program called Auria which is recording software for the iPad. It works okay for this purpose. I put myself in channels one and two and others tracks created from BIAB (then moved to Realband to separate the tracks) in the rest of the channels (usually just bass, keys and drums).

What I like is hitting the record button and playing a song through sound check. I then hit play and walk the room to listen and adjust the levels of each track. Once I get them like I want them, it is saved and my live mixes sound much better and can be different in each song. I am using all my own equipment so I have to be my own sound guy. Oh yes, forgot to say my current interface for this is an Alesis IO dock. I still use my VLP GTX in dual mono and the Auria gives me the ability to further EQ my vocal and guitar.

I have heard great things about the fat channel processing from the Presonus VSL. I believe this will be my next purchase since it serves two purposes for me - (1) better live vocals and (2) recording interface for Realband. I will probably go with the 44 since I often play along with a friend. Gives me four inputs on the front for two guitars and two vocals.

No matter which path I take, I will stick with the VLP GTX. This is a simple tool that never fails for me.

Please don't start new threads with the same question. It makes me think my post didn't take ..

I answered in your other thread with how to do this.

Oh I guess you thought you answered it before. Though you said yes I don't think you mentioned how it is done. And where this output is. You probably don't know. I will figure it out. Thanks

Sounds like you have a lot dialed in. Great you bought the Voice Live Play GTX also. I wish it had more presets like the iZotope plugin has though. I am sure it has a lot of the sound capabilities as the Vocal Effects plugin does. But not all the capabilities. The feature where Nectar 2 can take the breath
out of a vocal track. Breath control they call it I think. Some presets for voice over work and a lot of things. I just ordered the Roland QuadCapture Audio interface. It has a technology called AUTO-SENS where it automatically adjusts the input level. For a perfect level input. No distortion if it is too high and will not let it be under the level you need for a high resolution recording. That sold me. As soon as I read it I said this is the one I wanted. About 188 on Amazon.

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
