As per Alan's usual, he brings his own single coil sound to this one as well, rather than attempt to duplicate the original recording's 5-way switch thru Negative Feedback Fender sound. And that's a good thing. Make it your own.

Strong Performance

Alan!!!??? What a pleasant surprise!

You haven't lost that special touch only you can get out of a guitar.

Is that your custom shop Strat?

Check out streetjelly.com and do a show for us. Some fabulous talent found there including many BIAB friends you probably know.

I remember you having health issues, how's that going? I was miffed at Russ for dragging you away and into RC Modeling. I'll probably forgive him eventually now that you're back. lol

Welcome back, amigo.

Great to hear another song from you Guitarman.

I enjoy listening to your recordings and the clean way you articulate each note. You really have a way of getting every bit of tone your guitar can create.

Hi Guys

Many thanks for the kind comments, they are appreciated.

Hi Don

The guitar i used this time is my much modified White Mexican Strat,it has AAA Birdseye
maple neck and Kinman noisless pickups.

Illness is still ongoing, thank you for remembering/asking.

I won't bore you with the details,but i am OK,for now.

Don't be to hard on Russ,it wasn't his fault.
I was looking for a break from the guitar, but I'm back now.

Danny, appreciate the comments,i must be doing something right.

And to everyone, thank you,it's especially nice to know you remembered me.

Alan, please consider doing a show on streetjelly.com Danny does a fabulous job on SJ and there are many talented folks I want you to meet.

You needn't register to view the performances but, if you want a dialogue with the artists, you'll need to register (still free). It's live and shows are running now. 'Hava squint. I'm anxious to see your gear.

A great opportunity to put faces to friends you know.

Alan, I've been friends with Nokie Edwards of Ventures fame probably 50 years. Is it okay to share this tune with him?

Nokie was recently inducted into R&R Hall Of Fame. He's very much alive and, in fact, cutting an album in Japan right now. He'll be back home mid-February.

Be interesting to know if he comments.

I will check out streetjelly.com,but i don't own a camcorder,and
i am very shy.

You only need a webcam, probably already in your laptop or an adequate one is about $30. (some Quid) lol

There are some people that I especially want you to meet. Like me, you'll fall madly in love with 16 y/o Lana Mason. Brent is her uncle and her Dad, Randy, is a session drummer/guitarist at Ryman Auditorium (Grand Ole Opry). Lana does Broadway Show Tunes karaoke style with her beautiful voice. Such a little lady. She learned that my wife is disabled and immediately dedicated a song to her on YT. You'll love her.

Great to hear from you Alan.

Just FYI re: Streetjelly and being shy, there is one person there who performs in the dark (I know a great straight line) because he is shy.

If you have a cam on your computer you are set, if not they are very inexpensive.

My next set on SJ is this Saturday night 9:30 US CST, stop in and say hi.

Later Alan,

Hi Danny

Thanks for the info.

I will find out what time CST time is in UK and try and watch.

No webcam or laptop, problem with playing live in house is the wife works nights and she usually in bed.

Ok,9:30pm CST is 03:30am GMT,so I will be tucked up in bed.

It's a done deal, my friend.

Actually, it's his wife and General Manager, Judy, that we want to impress. She can be tough but since seeing me in my wheelchair with Dynavox Speech Synthesis Device her heart melted.

I also sent it to my blind Brit friend, Hayley Oliver, who was recently nominated Best Country Female Vocalist In Britain by BCMA. You've got to hear her beautiful voice.

Here's Hayley singing "I'm A Little Bluer Than That" with fabulous Telly break on this one.

http://youtu.be/WWKMJ6NiBVE

I have all of her albums if you'd like more of her songs.

At the ripe old age of seven, Hayley mesmerized Royal Albert Hall with that voice. Enjoy.

Her latest album was just released December 1st and features Albert Lee on guitar and keys. I'm honored to be among her friends.

I believe it was our own Josie Beck who reminded me that there has never been a blind female Country artist. A worthy goal for anyone.

Thanks Don

Just had a listen to Hayley and she sure does have a distinctive voice.

When the song started i thought she was going to be another Dolly Parton, but it soon
became clear she has her own style and sound.

No wonder she is doing so well.

Alan, please don't miss Josie Cooper (aka JosieC) at noon Central time. That should translate to 6 PM London time (verify that time). She's a phenomenal songstress, lyricist, vocalist, and loyal friend from Johannesburg, SA. You won't regret tuning in her show.

I don't think she's ever failed to dedicate something to me.

Be there or be quadrupedal!

I have bookmarked Streetjelly and you are correct 12:00 is 6:pm GMT.

That makes CST 6 hours behind GMT.

I have noted the name and will do my best to be there.

Thanks, dear friend. I thought you'd want to watch Joanne Cooper, aka Josie C, so I told her to watch for you. She won't know you're watching if you don't register and open a dialogue with her. She will know the number of viewers she has but don't see who her viewers are until they comment.

I'm very anxious to show your guitar talent to those PG Music friends who have not yet heard you play.

Hi Don

Well I went on to Streetjelly as arranged, but I got an error message telling me my browser is not compatible so I could not watch.

However,I did watch her on youtube, especially where she plays in the market.

Very nice, will you tell her I missed her but I will try to sort out the problem for next time.

I didn't know I had to register,so that's something else to do.

All my recordings are done by Direct Injecting the guitar into my interface, then into Logic.
I do not have the facility to do what the performers do on Streetjelly.

Sorry,but my circumstances don't allow.

Alan

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
