Hi all,

The band I’m in called Pumping Station Road has issued its first CD. It can be heard here.

It’s our first try so please give us any positive constructive criticism you can think of. The CD is very diverse in sounds so each suggestion should be aimed at one song.

Thanx all – MarioD

They're all great Mario. Only one I have a real issue with is the last one. Sounds like the voice might be distorted. Of course, my ears might be distorted too.

But other than that the mixes sound good.

I thought the vox distortion on Sweet Rebecca sounded kinda cool! I've only listened to it through my headphones so far... That's the best track, IMHO.

Hey Mario....

finally got a chance to give it a good listen. A great project, I think PSR has created their own idenity. Maybe my ears or speakers, but almost ever song seemed to have some noise in the lead vocal. Not as prevelant as the last one, and not quite distortion, more like crackle or wanting to clip, but not quite getting there. Might just be my speakers, they are gettin on in years like me.

My favorite song was Poor Patty. Who wrote that?...........A very well written song, and well performed. That one in my opinion is the best of the CD.

Just my opinion of course, like everyone else. And we all know that opinions are like (|)s, we all gottem and most people would prefer to not know what the other person's is like.

I thought it was a nice collection of songs, varied and all of them seemed pretty decent. Looks like you did all the percussion, keys and lead guitar -- cool. I only sampled each of the songs for about a minute or so.

The overall sound and mix I would put into the "rough demo" category, although "Poor Patty" was close to being CD quality. It needs to be remixed and mastered if you want to get a great cohesive sound. Only my opinion, of course.

Thought it was a good and diverse collection of songs. The ones which grabbed me most were Oh virginia, Chasing your dreams, sweet rebecca. I liked it a lot,

Thanx toucher for listening and the kind words.

I haven’t heard the vocal problem but I will investigate. This is a brand new experience for me, mixing other’s songs.

PSR member Steve wrote poor Patty. Unfortunately it is a true story about a young girl named Patty that lived on the streets from the age of 12.

Thanx again.

Thanx Kevin for listening and the constructive criticism.

You are right on about the rough demo comment. This really is a learning experience for me. I’ve never mixed anyone else’s songs before so I thought I’d upload these to get a baseline.

Yes, I did everything except the vocals, harp and acoustic rhythm guitar. That was also a challenge.

Thanx again.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
