When trying to quit BIAB the following message appears:

The only way to quit the program is via Task Manager.
Is this the normal way to quit the program?

Certainly not, although I have not seen this one before, Unless someone comes up with the right solution, try restore to factory and see if that do anything for it.

Good luck

Thanks for answering.

I did allready de-install all PG Music and BIAB files on my computer before I did run the setup.exe from UltrPlusPAK again.
It did not help nothing.

Is F:\ the external drive? Or is it a secondary internal drive?

Does that folder have the correct permissions to allow BiaB to write to it?
My first suspicion is a permissions issue.

Cudo,

Adding on to what rharv has said, what version of Windows are you running?

Noel

You do not want BIAB installed into a /Program Files folder (either one, if 64-bit Windows).

BIAB 2024 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 6.5 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6; Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Roland Integra-7, Presonus Studio 192, Presonus Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors

Did you also delete the C:/BB folder before you re-installed? This is a must.

Hi Matt,

I wanted the BIAB all on the external HD.

No I did not.
But now I did delete everything again including the BB folder
and reinstalled the program.
Everything went even worth.
Opening the BIAB the following 2 advices appear on the screen:

Quitting the programs mantains the same advice as told before.

"Cannot create file ..." / "Zugriff verweigert ..." are typical error messages in cases s.b. does not have appropriate write access to some drive/directory or whatnot. Right click onto the respective drive or folder and check via properties on your security settings. Make sure to assign appropriate rights to yourself. You may need to log in as administrator for this endeavor. Maybe you could ask some knowledgeable friend to walk you through the necessary steps.

Good luck

Cudo,

Have a look at Technical FAQ #100 at the following URL.

http://www.pgmusic.com/techfaq35.htm#100

I have Windows Vista and, around 5 or 6 years ago, I chose to disable User Account Control (option 5 in the FAQ). I left it disabled and have not had a problem.

Try disabling UAC and see if it solves your quitting issue. You can then re-anable UAC if you wish. By testing UAC out, it will allow us to see if this is what is causing your problem.

Regards,
Noel

An easier way to test if it's a permissions problem (which I'm sure it is) is to right-click the BiaB icon and select "Run As Administrator".
If you can successfully quit BiaB after doing that, then it IS a permissions problem.

Hope that helps.

Ole

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
