I've selected a block of 12 measures, and want to transpose it up a 5th. When I use the Transpose function, it changes the entire song. Is there a way to just do the selected measures?
Thanks!

Have you tried Edit-Transpose? Ray

Yes - it transposes the whole song.

It works for me. Edit-Transpose-from bar 3 to bar 4, transpose from C to Db. Ray

Ah-hah. I thought the 'from' and 'to' meant the key, not the measure range Thanks!

Hi Lloyd, Below is an image to accompany Ray's solution. It's the "Tranpose from ... to ..." that will do the job for you. All the best, Noel P.S. I see you've already worked it out I'll leave the graphic up in case others find it useful.

It would be clearer if that flyout said
"Transpose from bar... to bar...".
Perhaps an item for the Wish List.
Good luck! Lloyd S (the other Lloyd, the one with two "els" <grin>)

I don't see the feature in BIAB Mac - is this only on Windows ?
And if on mac - why so hidden from obvious use ?

I'm not on Mac at the moment, but if it don't have that feature you should be able to transpose the whole song, copy just the bars you need, undo transpose, then paste.

Hi,
What Pipeline described is still the best way to do it on a Mac. Transpose the whole song, highlight the bars you wanted transposed, hold down Command, and hit C, Z, V (Copy, undo, paste).
Thanks Kent PG Music

Nonchai posted about this in the Wishlist. The Mac version, including the new 2018, does not have Transpose From To. The Windows version does.
This is the BIAB for Windows Forum, so I thought I would mention this so people aren’t further confused by a mention of the Mac version.

I will have to get a Chord Picker Tool for MacBB sorted out as that would be easy to add a button to do that with one click.

Yes, that is an unfortunate oversight to leave that out.

Thanks Kent PG Music Just came across this thread because I need to transpose 11 sections of a song, each to its own key, on Mac. The quickest way to do it is as Kent suggested while using the shortcut ^+cmd+6 instead of Edit > Transpose > ... (in my case all transpositions are up 1 semitone, and you can also use ^+cmd+5 to transpose down a semitone or ^+cmd+7 for any other transposition interval). In case it's helpful here's a quick screen capture vid showing the process with multiple key changes, but without shortcuts: https://youtu.be/RuYeIuX6WMM ... just use the shortcuts instead and that will save time. The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
