Hallo BIAB-power-users,
the new freeze function in BIAB is a great idea. But when I use it I fin out that the freezed songs sound different than before. The freeze function seems to use the VSC DXi synthesizer as the standard option in the rendering prozess.
I am working with the Bandstand synthesizer from Native Instruments. Its sounds are far better than those from the VSC DXi.
Can anybody tell me how Bandstand can be used to render the songs into the Wav format during the freezing process?
And one more question:
While playing the frozen song the conductor function is not working as before: there is a about a 2 second pause after a command is given before the song starts at the new position. Is there a solution for that?

Hello Ulrich,
The freeze process works just like the Direct Render - it will use whatever DXi or VSTi synth you have selected.
Perhaps Bandstand didn't have enough time to load the patches, so you are hearing the wrong patches for part of the song? Try copying the AsstSettings.ini file from the \bb\BandStand Technical Notes folder to the main bb folder (and close and re-open Band-in-a-Box). This works in my testing.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
