I have noticed that, when I load a midi style, the (midi) drum is "missing".
I have a piano instead... (?).
The "lead in" is played by a piano and in the song the piano plays in the drum line.
In the drums menu, checking the "force midi drums" does not change anything...
Replacing the midi drum by a Real Drum track works..
.
Of course, this in "new" with Biab 2016.
Can you check if it is only by me? (Maybe I have overseen a checkbox somewhere?)

What is your default synth? Getting a piano sound is usually the result of a synth that is not GM compliant and doesn't view channel 10 as a drums/percussion only channel.

I have virtual synths, like Forte or "real" synth like the Ketron 2...
But I have been using these for years and only now (BiaB 2016) I get the problem.
I understand you DO NOT have the same problem, do you?
I have tried under drivers/use VSTi check (=Forte) and uncheck (=Ketron) but it does not change anything...

You might want to look at Prefs, Channels and make sure that the drum channel didn't get changed from 10 to a different number. In GM MIDI, drums are on channel 10.
The Forte, as well as your Ketron hardware unit should respond properly as drums on channel 10, so check to make sure it is actually outputting to channel 10.
My system worked fine, so I unfortunately can't replicate your problem.

There may be an issue with the 2016 version, indeed. I have an empty bass line here with the otherwise tried and true ZZJAZZ.STY. Notation does not show any notes in in the bass track and the StyleMaker reveals empty patterns of the bass track. The Style Maker is full of those numbers floating around there, yet 'Pattern/EDit Pattern (Notation)' or 'CTRL W' reveals empty patterns everywhere. That happens to be the case no matter what style I open. Reset to factory settings did not help either.
Plus I have a button with the note on it that used to open the pattern notation window missing here in the 2016 StyleMaker. BiaB 2015 has everything properly in place and bass lines are created as expected with ZZJAZZ.STY.
With respect to the missing drums issue it may be interesting if this is style specific or a general aspect and it might be a good idea to check via the StyleMaker whether drum patterns are present at all.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
